Wind run looks to be under reading at high wind runs

Firstly this post should be in Cumulus Beta but I'm now locked out and cannot see how to get access again. Assuming wind run is calculated thus [Average of all the average wind speeds 00.00 to 23.55] x 24 hrs., then the dayfile recorded wind run appears to be under recording. As you can see from the...

Re: July 2013 in Europe/UK/World

Today’s broken my all-time records with a high of 32.8c and THSW of 41c. Including today we have had 19 days over 21c; 11 of those between 25c and 30c, and 4 over 30c. So far for July we’ve had 221 hours of sunshine, and just 3.2mm of rain. Despite upcoming storms, I doubt they will make much of a d...

Re: A Metric Matter

I was educated using the old imperial system, but my career is in the UK construction industry where we use millimetres (mm) and metres (m). We do not use centimetres (cm) due the dangers of confusion with millimetres. However us older guys still think and talk in feet and inches. Over the years I h...

Re: Official - UK Spring coldest for 50 years!

The following are from the NOAA report. Taken up weather observation fairly recently, looks like I will have to look a little deeper into working out averages. March 2.7 C (3.6 below average) April 7.9 C (0.5 below average) May 10.9 C (0.6 below average) March 11th had an average daily windchill of ...

Re: Has a poll on Davis owners ever been done.

There’s no poll question for those with a 6152 and Dfars. My garden faces due South and I have found it invaluable; not only for summer but throughout the year. It only gets caught out when the sun rises more NE and sets more NW; even then minimum and maximum readings haven’t been affected.

Re: Dry Spell

Rain Jan to March this year 168.6mm, 188.6mm for the year to date. I was hoping for something drier, the 20mm so far today means the gardens virtually back to waterlogged again.

Re: Notes on VP2 version 3.12 firmware update.

I updated for one reason only. I've allways thought it looked odd when below freezing with no leading 0; now its no longer - .2 it will read -0.2

3080 - First Change of Transmitter Batteries

I have just changed the original transmitter batteries after 14 months, not completely gone but TX coming up when temp dropped below freezing. I'm now using iGo rechargeable alkaline rated 2000mAh same as the originals.

Re: Odd temperature spikes

My 3080 had lots of small spikes showing up on the Internal Temp / Humidity / Barometer graphs in Cumulus, and the console was fluctuating in the same three readouts. The batteries in the console were a year old so I changed them. Spikes now gone, readouts on console OK. Not sure if the removing the...

Re: Corrupted Graphs

Yes I can see the Help button, but I couldn’t see a highlighted line. The line to delete was just up from the bottom of my 24” LCD screen and it was only by accident I looked at the screen from a different angle and saw a very pale highlight. Then I deleted the corrupt line and everthings OK again. ...

Re: Corrupted Graphs

Thank you Steve. Its appears to be one odd date, see attached screenshot. Though I cannot see all of the date, when you click on you can see it is just 31/12/9. Is there a way to delete the whole row? And what happens to the row numbering if I can delete, the corrupt row is 243 followed by OK lines ...

Corrupted Graphs

See attached graphs for rainfall, sunshine and temperature. The remaining graphs are OK, but these three despite restarting a few times, and even upgrading from 1053 to 1058 are still corrupted. They have years instead of hours on the bottom axis. The sunshine icon on the main screen has also got st...
