Re: Davis anemometer cups not moving in light wind

My Pro 2 anemometer sites around 60cm apart from the FO WH1081 Anemometer but at an extra 1.2m, and my Davis anemometer will not move while the 1081 will move, it can read up to 6.1 before the Davis considers moving. Bearings and that are clean and still does it, beats me why but it's something I'm ...

Re: Possibility of flexibility over time for data?

When won't the feature request be long haha,

Not MX as I don't use that one, the one for PC is the one I mean, Cumulus 1 is the one I currently use.

I would use the Raspberry Pi that I have but the unit won't read the OS on the SD card for some reason even when I formatted it and re-downloaded it.

Cumulus not reading Davis Pro 2 Logger for archive data

Hi Steve, I went open cumulus on my Win 10 PC to upload the data to WU from my Pro 2, but Cumulus failed to download the archived data, as it went straight to live data, there was about 2 days worth of data on the logger. The Data logger is ticked on the menu so I'm not sure, it also did it yesterda...

Possibility of flexibility over time for data?

Out of curiousity with one of the latest release builds for cumulus, is it possible to have more control over the time of the data on when it restarts? I know with the midnight feature, all data resets at Midnight and 9AM resets at 9AM I was thinking this in mind so the user can customize what piece...

Re: Mine’s Bigger than Yours

Location UleyBury South Australia - Adelaide. I've been running cumulus since April 2011 but much heavier use since 2014 and running on two computers with one connected to the VP2Plus and WH1081. My most impressive rain rate was recorded on 12/12/12 in the mid afternoon at 3:25PM as a very intense m...

Re: Vue rainfall in windy conditions

You may have to install Guy wires which are wires that attach to the mounting post that your Vantage Vue is on to the ground or nearby posts to help support it. That will reduce the violent swaying of the station triggering off false rain, fine offsets do this also when no support is there and the g...

Re: Davis anemometer cups not moving in light wind

The Davis sits the highest at 7.5m, will be 9m in the new year, 3.5m for the Fine Offset. The vane will move and the cable swing slightly in the lightest of breezes but he cups won't until there's sufficient momentum to get it going. Shaft gets cleaned every 6 months and cups cleaned also, tightened...

Re: how can i stop Spiders going up station

I too have this issue, I've used a surface spray that you use around the house that says it'll last "6 'months" works alright in the dry parts of the year but avoid getting it on operating parts of the sensor such as reed switches, if you have a UV or solar sensor or both, avoid spray cont...

Re: Davis' New Davis Vantage Pro2 Rain Cone

The Pro 2 New Rain cone which I think is far better than the original one, it does record dew, I've had plenty of 0.2mm recorded primarily from dew. Mine had to be replaced as the reed switched died even with a new one installed. I find from personal experience that the debris shield that comes with...

Re: Davis anemometer cups not moving in light wind

Davis anemometers are supposed to be sensitive to the lightest of breeze, usually 2km/h +, I too also have this problem at times, when comparing it to my Fine Offset 1081 station, that one will read 5-6km/h and the Davis will read 0 even thought there is not much difference between the two in locati...

Re: Dew showing as rainfall

Our Weather Organisation here in Australia also counts dew as a rain day, anything over 0.2mm counts, 0.1mm or ground wet acts as a TRACE.

I do as Steve stated before and write if the 0.2 is dew or from fog.

Although 0.2 or 0.4mm evaporates within the hour when the sun is up

Re: Sudden Spikes on Wunderground

Rapid Fire is currently enabled, so I'll disable it,

The Meteobridge also uploads data to another WU account being the Backup one so while I am not at home, I can still see weather conditions
I'll also try the Debugging of the logs to help also.

Re: Sudden Spikes on Wunderground

Hi Steve, These readings were for yesterday (30th October 2016), The time on the PC and the Davis are very close together and yes all time zones are set to our time being Australian Central Daylight Savings Time The spikes are not consecutive as they only occurred once out of the entire day. Yes the...

Sudden Spikes on Wunderground

Almost every time I boot up cumulus from the previous shut down which is typically over a 12 hour period since the last, sometimes up to 3 days, when the data "Catches Up" to Weather Underground, it shows a weird spike in most to all of the observations when Cumulus was opened. Dew Point, ...

Re: Fine offset Rain Counter Total

Thanks Steve, I'll update it later today as I've got the build 1086. (and i'll make a donation too as its so useful) On the main screen it says 198.7mm as had an additional 13.8mm since So i basically ignore the Total Rain column as its from the station. I modify it in Excel using a copy of the data...
