Re: RaspberryPi: CumulusMX init.d System Startup Script
Have you installed Screen? sudo apt-get install screen It sounds like CumulusMX is closing when you close the terminal or SSH session. You need Screen installed so CumulusMX can run in the background in it's own screen session after you close the terminal window. If you install Screen you can use th...

Re: Hardware Recommendations (Urgent)
It would probably help if you gave a price range or upper limit. I had an Ambient WS 1090 (Fine Offset) for about 3 years that cost $139 USD. It would lock up every week or so and quit communicating via USB. I had to pull and replace the batteries from the console to fix it. I finally bit the bullet...

Check this thread. https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=14753
This worked more reliably than using an entry using @reboot in CRONTAB.

Re: MX 3043 Issues
Have you tried the etc/init.d script that I mentioned? This worked for me. Crontab would not work on reboot. https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=14753 I had to do one additional thing to make it bullet proof. If I had a power failure at the house and the router had to reboot on po...

Re: MX 3043 Issues
nope, doesn't work. Also it doesn't give me access to type anything more. As VTHokie74 mentions I have also heard Jessie is bugged. I'll try your method or I'll downgrade my Debian If I understand correctly you wrote your own script to start CumulusMX at boot? Were you aware of Jank's Start/Stop sc...

Re: MX 3043 Issues
I was never able to get the @reboot task in cron tab to work. I used Jank's alternate method using an init.d startup script that is posted in the forum here . There is a known bug on Debian Jessie with the @reboot task in cron tab. I found this workaround but never tried it. https://rahulmahale.word...

Re: WU Updates - MX4043
My station quit updating on WU sometime overnight. The forecast page was showing somewhat random data for how long it had been off line. It showed I had been offline for 102 days one time. I hadn't restarted CMX in 93 days so I stopped and restarted and it seems OK now. I am still running 3038. I ha...

Thanks, I have used regedit before. I wondered where you changed that.

Re: Source for station update time displayed on CumulsuMX Interface
Thanks Steve. I think I confirmed that the issue is that the local time is the time on the PC you are using to view the interface page can drift between between PC clock updates from whatever time server you are using. I checked this morning on one of my PC's and the last update was 20 seconds ahead...

Source for station update time displayed on CumulsuMX Interface
I noticed on my PC's that the "Last station update" time can run as much as 30 seconds ahead of local time. To check I opened up the interface on my tablet at the same time and the last station update was a few seconds behind local time. Is this because the local time is the local PC or ta...

Re: Windows 10 Anniversary Update
I think the issue is that you need to set up Windows to automatically sign in to a user account when starting. This page shows two methods to do that: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3539-sign-user-account-automatically-windows-10-startup.html Then you need to use a scheduled task or another meth...

Re: Weatherlink install.
You have to shut down Cumulus first. Did you do that? They both cannot talk to the datalogger at the same time.
About the only think Weatherlink is needed for is to set the station elevation, sea level adjusted barometric pressure, and logging interval. Once you do that you don't need it.

Re: step of setting data between CMX ver. 3038 to ver. 3041
Others may correct me but I believe you should make a copy of your "cumulus.ini" file, which contains all the settings and after you unzip the 3041 file copy the ini file you saved back in to the CumulusMX directory. I don't think your data directory will be replaced. Of course you should ...

Re: Failure on new RPi install: steelseries_tween.min.js:24
I had problems with viewing the browser page directly on the RP3 with Epiphany. It might work a few times but then would quit working. Clearing history is a temporary fix. I just open the page on another PC on the network using the IP Address, 192.168.1.110:8998. in my case and It works every time i...
