Re: wh1081 / maplin N96FY pressure bar chart

Just to repeat what has been spread about elsewhere: The raingauge should be level on all planes. It should not be 'shadowed' by any nearby structure / trees. It should be 200mm + above local level to minimise rain / mud splatter. The secure surface you have upon should allow for drainage ! Put it s...

Re: wh1081 / maplin N96FY pressure bar chart

... one question i still have is regarding the 'tendency' feature left middle of the console. it seems to be a type of weather forecast but it is adjustable by me? why is that? also on the same feature - you can adjust 2 values - i think they are mmhg, one value is adjustable between 1 - 4 (default...

Re: Heat Index

At the moment my thinking is that Cumulus 2 will do the same as Cumulus 1, but I will probably add the combined 'feels like' index. And maybe an option to show null/dashes/NA/whatever for the other two when they don't apply. Wasn't making a Cumulus comment Steve, just stating the not obvious for ot...

Re: Heat Index

You haven't got warm enough for HI to be applied - so it's probably 'tied' to current temperature.

BTW you can't have windchill and HI at the same time ;)

The beteljuice is not exactly in the first flush of youth (although I do seem to be the youth in this thread :D ) The picture change code at its lowest level: <img src="images/picturecam.jpg" height="490" width="640" id="pic" /> ...... <script language="j...

Re: New tag?

There are two sources of picture information available: The file creation date, and EXIF (if available) - normally that would be interrogated by some kind of server-side script (eg. php, perl). Even then some servers do not allow (or have been told) the created / modified timestamp to be broadcast. ...

Re: Cumulus on PWS

No Problem George We should always be looking for "The Next Best Thing", even if it's garish and flashy we learn and say "Next time". By discussion (and links), we feed the thirst for knowledge and perhaps light a torch that someone else picks up and improves (some of my prototyp...

Re: Cumulus on PWS

ATM there seem to be issues with easily putting it to the size you want, but in terms of embedding it check out Georges (gwheelo) page: http://www.wheelocknet.net/cumulus/gauges.htm Why aren't you using "target" to get to cumulus index ?, at the moment you have no navigation back to your m...

Re: Problems with CumulusRealtime

I don't use it ! - but I'm assuming that this line: <object data="data:application/x-silverlight," type="application/x-silverlight-2" width="100%" height="100%"> Is a reference to it's original size. As you've already discovered, if it's unable to fit the cont...

Re: Cumulus on PWS

... It seems to me that I should be able to get to MY Cumulus web page if I enter "http://smlweather.com/cumulus/index.htm" .. You can quote an absolute address - like that, or you can do shortcuts - I quoted shortcuts, a link reference to the page you are in. eg. ../ is a shortcut to the...

Re: Cumulus on PWS

Simple HTML George ! On your 'normal' index page add the links: <a href="Cumulus/index.htm">My Weather</a> or <a href="Cumulus/index.htm" target="_blank">My Weather</a> (opens in a new window) and the same sort of thing for realtime guages If you DON'T open Cumulus in a...
