Re: New Sensor Location
Thanks for the tip. I'm looking at moving the main temp/humidity/sender unit as it's too high up, but will have to move it to within our garden as it could get vandalised, and this suggestion will help as the new locations will be in direct sunlight in the summer. Anyone know the limit of extending ...

Re: New Sensor Location
LOL - the snakes are harmless - they love giving people cuddles :) Sold most of my RC helis a few years back, but still find them interesting - one of my co-workers where I used to work had one of those small contra-rotating helis and was having problems getting that off the ground (why I don't know...

New Sensor Location
Hi guys, long time since I posted here, hope everyone had a good Christmas etc ? Over the Christmas holidays one of our neighbours lost their felt roof due to the stormy weather on Christmas eve. My sensor array was on a pole fixed to the garden shed, which has now become somewhat shielded by vegeta...

Log times on base unit
After three years my original Fine Offset station wouldn't pair up with the sender station so I purchased a new unit from maplins (under their own branding) and it's been running fine for the past month or so. However, I'm sure you could set the data record interval so it matched that of the Cumulus...

Failure
Well after 2yr 4mths my fine offset unit purchased from Maplin gave up the ghost. It started reporting sensor error around 8pm one evening so next day purchased some batteries and replaced the AA's in the sender unit hoping that would resolve the problem. But it couldn't get the base unit and sender...

Re: Cumulus accross a LAN
Thanks for the reply David. I'm not that bothered about having an either or situation, as I would only be using the application when observing so could close down the copy running on the PC the station is connected to. The thing is I can't see any option in the application or ini file of where to po...

Cumulus accross a LAN
I've tried the search option but drew a blank. Is it possible to run Cumulus on a network so it accesses a shared data folder thus displaying the same info from the weather station. I have one PC in the lounge which has the FineOffset (Maplin) station connected to, but also have a PC in an observato...

£14 will get you a Phillips SPC880 CCD webcam http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/shop/detail.asp?ProductID=6313&CategoryID=556&SubCategoryID= It can then be flashed to a 900 by upgrading the firmware via a freeware application. Then it's a fairly simple task to modify it for long exposures and...

Re: changed batteries - now no data being received
Thought you guys like to see my new installation now the shed has been moved http://micro-heli.co.uk/mast.jpg http://micro-heli.co.uk/tempsensor.jpg The temp sensor hopefully will be kept in the shade, possibly it may be struck by direct sunlight for a while, but when the hedge grows back a bit I mi...

Re: changed batteries - now no data being received
Now the unit is receiving data I'm having a few problems with the base unit.
I've always had problems with the touch screen, and seem to remember setting the date and time via software on the PC - I'm guessing easyweather, unless Cumulus can now do that ?
Any ideas ?
