Re: Request for Enhancement

This whole weather forecasting twilight-zone is confusing to most of us (if I can be so brave as to speak for the majority). Meterologists have entire computers dedicated to running multiple models and gps-based sensors based added to historical data going back years and years in order to draw a &qu...

Re: Request for Enhancement

My sixpence: The goal is to receive alarm if the pressure exceeded pre-determined values....be they rise or fall. It seems to me that one addition would do it...assuming its user-defineable (maybe via cumulus.ini). As example, if pressure rises OR falls .10 inches (sorry guys .. we don't use metric ...

Re: Updated: Wind direction indicator - tail mods plus some Q's

Some good ideas. One final question. Did you remove the wind-direction indicator from your system to add this modification? If so, does it just pop off? I would think it would be difficult to install that mod standing on a ladder. It seems the top would just slide up and off but I don't want to take...

Re: Updated: Wind direction indicator - tail mods plus some Q's

Yes thats what I meant by adding tape to the head of the unit...to offset the tail weight. Any suggestions as to an alternative to several winds of duct tape? I also think a few winds of duct tape on the head of the until will offset some of the weight and so thats in my plan as well. Don't forget t...

Re: Updated: Wind direction indicator - tail mods plus some Q's

That's some impressive design and work! I want it! You should consider mass producing that baby! I'm going to have to attempt to try doing that. I too tried the cup idea but agree about the problem with the velocity at the narrow end of it. My only problem is that its difficult to get up to that lev...

Re: Weather software

Make sure your station ID is in capital letters....and that you have the correct password. If these are correct, Cumulus should be sending the data to WU.

Re: Weather software

I am a new user, green horn, I received a Zephyer Instruments weather station I am running the Zephyr with Cumulus and would be happy, as would others here, to help you out. Cumulus does a fine job with the Zephyr (albeit Zephyr won't update faster than every 50 seconds). For future reference, the ...

Re: Looks like we're in for another hot week down under

It seems that some places are much warmer than normal and others not. As example, our midwest area is receiving the worst winter cold and snow (from Canada) in over 10 years...with wind-chills down to -43C and even a bit below. It'd take someone better acquainted with the weather than me to hazard a...
