Re: Intermittent loss of sensor contact
Hi Dan and welcome to a new life of 'lost contacts@ :) What your describing is quite normal for this range of kit. So, what are the solutions? I have used most of the 'radio related' improvements such as getting the console (receiver) elevated, external aerials and aerial enhancements (reflectors), ...

maplin spares?
Hi guys.
Maplin in UK are currently advertising a FOSH unit for £30, reduced from £60
ID is N25FR and price includes FREE DELIVERY
Stock available > 40 units in my area, Liverpool.
Its probably about the same price as a full set of spares but all in one box

Re: Importing Data to Excel
Hi Bri.
interesting stuff for us 'nerdy' data processors.
You might look at a free program called CSVEdit
http://csved.sjfrancke.nl/
It works really well as a pre-processor for Excell

Re: Location for data storage
hi Mp Am assuming you want the data to be available for others to use? As a backup system, I copy all my data to a NAS (xternal storage)every week. I also copy the system files weekly. Would this do if the NAS had general access? The dayfile.txt and other data files are uploaded to the web site so I...

As I said, its what I do and its run pretty well non stop for 6 years (June 2008) Funny enough the hard drive broke last week and I lost a days data. Managed to replace the drive and its all up and running again. That said the HP is 14 years old so no surprise really https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/po...

Re: Data transmission without computer
You could try setting the laptop in lo power mode.
Screen off, hard drive off after 5 mins, etc
Its what I do with my 24/7 HP laptop running 13 watts in lo power mode.
It runs quite cool

Re: New User Questions Please
Hi. Steve explained the answer very well. I am wondering why you would want to buy a server hardware and possibly software to use it, total cost 150 Euro plus, when you could do all this with the weather station and Cumulus for FREE. Make a donation of 20 Euro per year for 10 years to make yourself ...

Re: Connecting a WH3080 Wirelessly to a Desktop PC
hi guys.
am wondering what range you are trying to cover
and if some aerial mods might work?
Adding a 'reflector' to the sender unit might easily double the range.

Its not at wifi freqs but you get the idea?

Re: Temperature Inconsistencies
Hi Chris. The variations seem excessive at first sight but a i'll bet the units and locations are all quite different. A better 'view' of the data would be over several hours. I ran 2 FOSH units side by side for a while. One had a white painted flower pot over the temp sensor. Overnight temps were w...

Re: Watson / Fine Offset W-8681-SOLAR
Hi JMB Have been running the solar unit for 15 months now. Before that the non solar for over 3 years. The 'new solar' is about the same in operation. It is still a bit quirky with some users but so far its been pretty good for me. That said, the pressure sensor readings have failed in the last mont...

Re: temp spikes and pressure errors
Hi Alan. The unit is the full solar with sun/light sensing. Not accurate but indicative :) Am still getting the spikes but of late at 1200 and 1900 give or take. They are so regular its got to be local interference but what? Still not got inside the console. Just too busy and cant find the screwdriv...
