Re: Remote control of your Cumulus PC
I hate the constant reminder TeamViewer gave me about buying the product. I know they offer a commercial version, and also a free one, but do I need to be told every time I use it!

Re: Temp sensor
You have probably recorded a direct sunlight temperature. The small shield around the sensor is not adequate for high temperatures. If you search the forum there are several adaptations/screens people have made.
I've asked if someone would make me one -- I am happy to pay, but still no offers

Re: Google Analytics goes real-time
Did you get an email back?
You also need to be on the "New Version" -- top of screen in red; if you are not click it. The realtime stats link then appears in the Dashboard

Re: Amazon Web Services?
I do not have any experience of this at all, but my understanding is that it can be quite complicated. If you want to present a static website you use the S3 service; if it is to be dynamic you also require the EC2 services. You pay for the time you run an EC2 instance. I've had a few reads about th...

Google Analytics goes real-time
For those of us who use Google Analytics to track our web site activity, we finally have real-time updating. In the past the data was often several hours out of date but Google are rolling out real-time. I've used it and can say it is excellent to get a sense of what pages are being accessed on your...

Re: Battery life
It will depend a lot on the temperature I think and the quality of the batteries
I have certainly had mine in for over 12 months and it endured temperatures as low as -17C during the winter

Re: Running Word 2003 from a memory stick?
Geoff, The problem with so many Windows apps is they install libraries all over the place, so Word is not just in c:\program files\Office, but also in c:\windows & c:\windows\system to name but a few. This in effect means that running it on a stick is not possible as it has too many dependencies...

Re: fire up cumulus now and then?
Your station has 4080 memory slots to store data so you need to make sure it does not use all of those and start over writing before Cumulus captures the data. If the station is set to store (log) data every 10 minutes that is 144 memory slots per day. Weekly is 1,008 (The data logging interval need...
