Re: "dayfile.txt" is not updating
The diags file is unlikely to help, all Cumulus knows is that it can’t write to the file. A likely culprit is antivirus software or similar.

Re: Twitter problem with Cumulus v1.9.4 (1099)
Twitter changed their authentication method again, and Cumulus can no longer obtain the authentication tokens. Even if you copied the cumulus.ini file containing the tokens to the new PC, it is possible that they won’t work on that machine - I don’t know.

Re: 32701 error
Can you run Weatherlink, and see if that can connect to the station?

Re: CumulusMX backend crashes if weather station's USB is unplugged
It’s unlikely that I’ll ever do any changes to the MX user interface. One of the reasons for doing it the way it’s done (using HTML and JavaScript) is that it can be modified and tailored without any changes from me. I will however look at adding items to the API if they are not already there, to fa...

Re: FTP upload error
You are using www.wansteadweather.co.uk for the ftp (host) server name, which does not resolve to the ip address in your provider’s information. They have told you to use ftp.wansteadweather.co.uk, which does resolve to that address. I don’t know whether www.wansteadweather.co.uk should be resolving...

Re: CumulusMX error
I can’t look at your diags files myself at the moment (away from home in the motorhome). But you can easily look yourself and see if there is an error message at the appropriate time. I suspect that MX isn’t actually involved and your problem is in your system somewhere. The file you mention is your...

Re: Cumulus connecting to remote site on the internet?
If you have uploads to those sites configured, then those are the most likely candidates (in particular WU and WOW). Uploads to WU, PWS, and WOW all use port 80. The obvious way to find out is to turn off uploads to those sites one at a time.

The username in that picture is not the one you are trying to use according to your previous screenshot.

Sorry, no idea unless there is something relevant in the MXdiags file at that time.

Re: Add Extra Temp Value to Interface Page
Shouldn’t need to do that conversion, as it can be used in json format in this case. It’s simply the call to get the data using the URL that’s needed, and I just can’t remember how it’s done - probably uses ajax.

Re: Add Extra Temp Value to Interface Page
I don’t have my laptop with me so can’t easily look at the interface code to remind myself how it does it, but if you have a look at the javascript for the dashboard page, for example, you’ll see how it calls MX to get the json for its page into a variable.

Re: USB stop responding
I think Steve has done quite enough. Enjoy your new home and retirement Steve! Thanks, Simon. Some people, having been found out for what they are, seem determined to confirm it. I thought he said he wasn't going to be posting again anyway? Currently sitting in the sun on a vineyard in the Val de L...
