WOW Wind speeds

I have successfully signed up at WOW, and data uploads are working. The only options for wind speeds at WOW are mph, knots and metres per second. In Australia the BOM uses km/h, and also my station has been recording wind speeds as kilometres per hour for nearly ten years. I really have no intention...

Re: No data on 'Monthly Records' web page

Thanks.
Already did the editing, and it's reading okay.
Just wondered about the updating.

Re: No data on 'Monthly Records' web page

OH! You mean this bit? Month-by-month all time records, and web tags. These are things like 'highest ever January temperature' etc. These aren't initialised automatically, the simplest way to do this is: 1. Open the new monthly records editor (on the Edit) menu 2. Click the 'fetch dayfile dat...

No data on 'Monthly Records' web page

I just downloaded and upgraded to V1.9.3. Everything seems fine, except... I've included a screen cap of my Monthly Records page below: http://www.kookaburranet.com/Weather/images/monthlyrecords2s.jpg There are two things wrong with this page: 1) all the entries are from today (March 12, 2013 now ab...

Re: Software requirement

To yv1hx: I suppose I should have been more specific instead of using the expression 'Davis literature'. There is nothing about 'archive interval' in either the Vantage Pro2 Console manual or the Vantage Pro2 Quick Reference Guide from the Davis website. I would not expect to have to go looking for ...

Re: Software requirement

Hi Doc, From my own experience you WILL need to use the Weatherlink software, if only to set up the Davis console. It's a story of its own... I've had a Vantage Pro2+ for just over a year now, and only recently managed to get past the annoying occurrence of the whole program sitting there for 2 or 3...

Re: Records began date

Yep, makes sense. You may recall my previous post about converting between wind speeds about 8 posts down, where I explained loss of all settings. Quite likely that is when those dates changed, but as I rarely look at the Records page on the website, I didn't see it until the other day. Thank...

Records began date

I upgraded to V 1.9.2 a couple of weeks ago. Today I noticed that the "Records" page on the website informed me that records began on May 22, 2012 - the date I did the upgrade, but still showed the records from 2010 and 2011. I replaced the recordsbegandate tag from the recordT.htm with th...

Converting between wind speeds

A couple of days ago my computer got itself into one of those ever decreasing circles from which it would not recover. I had to switch off the power. Only time in 3 years for this computer. The problem wasn't Cumulus, but after I restarted, I noticed Cumulus had changed units on most readings. Even ...

Changing weather stations and keeping data??

I will soon be changing from a LaCrosse to a Davis VP Pro2+. In fact I have the Davis unit up and running and am waiting on the data logger - tomorrow maybe? I'd like to keep all my data in the same files etc if possible to preserve the site history, all time records etc. If I stop Cumulus, hook up ...

Thanks Steve.
The RF situation was one reason I didn't think of.

VP2+ & Weatherlink country specific??

Again with the possibly silly questions ;) : I've read on a few sites re Davis VP2 and the Weatherlink package, " This is the US version and may not be suitable for your country ." Or wording to that effect. I can't imagine this to be true. How could it? But is it? (Seeds of doubt successf...

Re: Connecting Vantage Pro2 plus to computer

Thanks for the answers. ;)
When I had my W7 computer assembled, I made sure it had a serial port because the LaCrosse was almost useless into a USB port with an adapter, but I get the point that the USB connections have to be getting better because serial ports are rare these days.

Connecting Vantage Pro2 plus to computer

I hope this question isn't toooo silly, but I can't see anywhere on various websites if there is provision 'in the box' to connect the VP2 to a computer. They mention a datalogger for USB or serial connection, but it seems to be a separate item. The manuals available online don't show the back of th...
