Re: WH3081 console replacement

Try re-soldering the Console socket but you need to dismantle to do that.
I guess you have tried a different cable?

Re: Replacement batteries?

NiMh voltage is too low. I am trialing 1 x Lithium 3.6Volts AA with a dummy battery as well but then again I don't have a solar pod doing the recharging. Anyone know if the lithiums will stand being charged by the solar pod voltage? Using a spare transmitter and base station for the trial. Lots of p...

Only 2 screws hold this 6 Metre, 40x40mm pole. Certainly high enough for single storey houses. I wouldn't want to go to 10 Metres though. Nice day for a photo.

Re: Relocation of anemometer - feasible?

I have a 6 metre, aluminium, square pole that is screwed to a fence post. It can wave around a bit in big winds but that doesn't seem to be a problem if the rain gauge is not on the pole. Doesn't need guy ropes.

Have you tried going over the solder joints with a soldering iron. I have done that in the past to fix intermittent lockups.

How about take the transmitter apart and check for moisture or foreign bodies?

Maybe Dismantle the outdoor sensor and check for moisture across the temperature sensor and if so dry it all out.

The anemometer has munched up the spider that was having a ride on the bearing :-)

Re: Davis anemometer cups not moving in light wind

My pole is a square section which seems to alleviate the bending problem and doesn't seem to affect the wind gauges. Never put the rain gauge on a pole:-) No aerials required.

Re: Weather Station MODEL WH1050 - NO Outside temperature

Did you try removing the usb cable and batteries from both the receiver and transmitter and rebooting the system.
Were you still receiving external humidity and wind speed/direction info etc.?

Re: Davis anemometer cups not moving in light wind

I just have the anemometer and direction mounted on a 6 metre aluminium pole and screwed to the fence with 2 screws. To get it down for the odd oiling I just remove one screw and walk the pole down.

Normally the white plastic housing bit, I seem to remember.

I swapped mine for one out of a broken spare display unit.
