Re: Glorious weather over most of UK

There's one thing guaranteed.. actually, two things guaranteed when the sun comes out in the UK... 1) There will be idiots doing things as Rob has described... 2) Lots of people will take off a lot of their clothes. For some it's a good thing. For many others... well, let's just say the cooler weath...

Good point. Many traders will have had their best Easter for many a year and given the state of the economy it's great for the country.

Re: Glorious weather over most of UK

I see it's cooled down a bit on Anglesey Rob. Cloud moving up from the south most likely.

Still rising here and 1C away from yesterday's max.

Re: Glorious weather over most of UK

That's April's mowing done then! Hopefully you'll get a chance to sit outside and admire the view before too long.

Any chance you could include a link to your station in your sig? I often wonder what the weather is like up there half way to the Arctic Circle! ;)

That's why I mentioned "most of the UK". I'm aware the SW has rain showers and the east coast is cooler but that temperature is awful Steve.

I take it you haven't mown the lawns this year yet?

Glorious weather over most of UK

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the fantastic weather many of us have been enjoying for the last week here in the UK. Officially no records have been set but temperatures are around 10C above the average. My max yesterday was 24.7C but that seems likely to be exceeded today as it's 21.7C now. Now...

Re: Minimum system requirements

I'm running Cumulus on a Samsung NC10 netbook successfully. I also run WeatherLink and VPLive via VirtualVP at the same time and the PC copes fine.

You should have no problems.

Re: Sunshine Recorder

Olejul / Steve, Thanks for your replies. My main concern is accessibility to the sensor because it clearly has to be in an open space which for me means at roof level. But your answers have given me some encouragement that this is a clear alternative to the Davis solution and in most respects is a b...

Re: Sunshine Recorder

Can I ask a couple of questions about this please to save me trawling through all 26 pages. I have a Davis VP2 and want to add their solar sensor but until they change their firmware to allow it to connect to the anemometer transmitter it's a non-starter. I'm not confident they ever will. My back ga...

Re: fullscreenweather.com

Whilst the full-screen map Rob pointed out is nice I also use the Wundermap feature. If you hover over any of the sites listed on the right it highlights it on the map and a single click shows the temperature chart for that station. Click another and it then shows that one without needing to shut th...

I'm still running the C2 service and occasionally open the viewer on my other laptop so I'm ready for the next beta version Steve. As I run VirtualVP I can continue to run C1.

Re: Japan

A couple of staggering facts from today's Telegraph... The Earth's axis shifted by 9.8 inches (25 cm). The main island of Japan moved 7.8 feet (2.4m). The energy required for those is incomprehensible. And whilst Japan has admirably designed buildings that can withstand enormous earthquakes there's ...

Re: New Record? Post here.

Downpours are usually very localised. My wettest day was 52.3mm of which 28mm fell in 1 hour. 4 miles away another Cumulus user logged 17mm for the day.

You're probably getting a lot of the UK's rain. I've only recorded 2.5mm for March but we did get 6mm overnight.

Gina, I've paid for Dreamweaver and want to learn how to create webpages with it. I appreciate it's complex but I'm a good learner.

LATER: There's an option under Validation to switch off Quotes in Text. That's supressed the warnings.
