New quake-json.php script
Hi there. I've been out a while from the amateur meteorology, but with the purchase of a cabled Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus I'm back. :D I've been updating slowly, because in just one year there were many good improvements, Ken never stops! I had put this question in an American forum of meteorology, bu...

Re: Converting Daytime FARS to 24-hour FARS?
You should be able to pick up a 2V PSU from any good electronics store in your country. If you can only find the more popular 3V models you can put a diode in-line with '+' connection which will drop to around 2V. 3V is definitely too high and the fan will spin like a jet engine. Diode 1N5408 is pe...

Re: Converting Daytime FARS to 24-hour FARS?
I converted mine a little while ago and there are two routes you can take. 1/ you can either purchase all the parts required from Archer Trading or 2/ Save yourself a lot of work, as yours is a cabled version, is it possible for you to connect a " 2 volt " PSU to the fan? I went with opti...

Re: Converting Daytime FARS to 24-hour FARS?
I there Ray (how long... :) ) and John. I rise up this topic because I also bought a few weeks ago one Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus cabled weather station, and the brand offers only the Daytime FARS shield for this version of Davis. So I had to buy the Daytime FARS. However I believe that there will be a...

Re: WH3080 solar readings
Thanks Steve!
I have arrived to my house now and discovered that we already have a new version of Cumulus with the 'calibration' setting for UV!
I will test, starting tomorrow, this feature.

Re: WH3080 solar readings
I know you didn't; I was asking if you thought it needed one. Thank you for your reply. I apologize then, I thought that you were affirm! Hi I'm not sure if a lux level can ever be reliably converted to w/m2 due to the scattering of higher frequencies of radiation and some of which are conve...

Re: WH3080 solar readings
Do you think it needs a 'multiplier' setting as well as an offset? I'm thinking a multiplier probably doesn't make much sense for UV index, but I could be wrong... Steve, I did not say that needs a multiplier. It needs Offsets (Add / Subtract). I agree with you, a multiplier that does not make sens...

Re: WH3080 solar readings
I can put in a 'calibration' setting for UV like the others... In this new release of Cumulus: the "CumulusSetup_beta.v1.9.2_build999", you have add this features? No, I was just fixing the bug. I do not understand what this means: "- Cater for UV values of 255 from WH3080" It m...

Re: WH3080 solar readings
I have already installed the new version that corrects the UV values when they are bigger than 12, but now a new problem arises. If the station loses contact with the UV sensor (happened this morning), Cumulus interprets as UV = 16! Is there any chance to correct this? Ah, yes, it sends FF when t...

Re: WH3080 solar readings
I can put in a 'calibration' setting for UV like the others... Amazing then!! Steve what you can not do!? What a great work that you have here! :o Just to serve as a comparison, here I leave you two UV graphics from weather stations near mine: http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/6756/uvwuc...

Re: WH3080 solar readings
Ah, yes, it sends FF when that happens. I had code in for that, but I've lost it because of the new code - I'll fix it. Thanks Steve! Another request, if possible... I already have the new solar module and now have a more correct behavior of the UV value. The problem is that the readings are...

Re: WH3080 solar readings
Sorry about that, I gave you incorrect information. The LuxToWM2 setting has to go in the [Solar] section in cumulus.ini. Ahhhh ok! :D I found it strange, but you 're the master. So I do not say anything! I will test it and then tell you something. I take this opportunity to put another q...

Re: WH3080 solar readings
I have two Davis weather stations, near to mine (about 10km / 6.2 miles) . Their values are these, for yesterday So that's making your theoretical max look pretty good, assuming you had bright sunshine. So you probably just need to reduce that LuxtoWM2 value by quite a bit. You've got a peak of a...

Re: WH3080 solar readings
It looks like the new code isn't working, but I can't see anything wrong with it. Are you sure you're using the latest build? No, it wasn't! I just finished installed it. Let's see how it behaves. Thanks! It's hard to say; unless you have some other data to compare with, you can't know wheth...
