Thanks Mark,
I had come round to understanding that null or -999 values weren't acceptable.
Once the dayfile has been adjusted, what's the next best step to take?
On MX how long does it take the app to process the files and populate the tables?
Cheers
Geoff

Re: Enhancements for correcting bad historical data and records
I have an opportunity to carry out some serious checking of the dayfile for errors I know exist, -68 temps, 200mm rain rates when no rain occurred. My Davis is being cleaned with a new temperature sensor. I'm also adding on a sun sensor. The wiki doesn't explain what to do, or at least I haven't fou...

Re: Enhancements for correcting bad historical data and records
Slightly before Storm Arwen hit NE Scotland I had a couple of glitches in my data which resulted in Cumulus alarming with every single record overwritten by the value 6.8. I am, therefore, interested in finally moving over to MX ( I have run the two in parallel for some months via VirtualVP ). I kno...

Re: Taken the plunge
Thanks all. @Ray - I've not used WL in years so no I didn't need to run it for the new PC location. Question if I may... I was never able to edit data on the Netbook, too slow - too small a screen - etc. In 10 years I've had to replace each sensor once, temp, wind, rain - so I know I have suspicious...

Taken the plunge
After almost a decade of running Cumulus1, data from a Davis Vantage Pro2, on a Samsung Netbook, I was 'forced' to consider another PC after cats kept sitting on its keyboard. I've installed cleanly on a PC I use to run my security cameras and also took the opportunity to include CumulusMX. Data &am...

Pro Vue Gain
Hi all, The small manual suggests changing the GAIN setting if the reception is poor. It writes to enter the Diagnostics and alter the GAIN setting using HILOW - except if I hit this, I get nothing to suggest the GAIN is altered. I do get Battery 10 in the ticker tape area. I had a 6 hour drop in da...

Re: Data Errors
I haven't, but there's little evidence the battery is at fault. Though it wouldn't surprise me, given the coincidence!

Re: Temperature Sensor
A single instance of -67.8C last night suggests Global Warming isn't happening soon

Re: Data Errors
Indeed, at least I hope they'll come up with a solution. Funny how it was for just one observation, and all these issues (old sensor and new) only started after I installed a fresh battery (they last 14 months).

Re: Data Errors
Hi Ray,
Bought from Prodata, the company from where the unit came from originally. I'll see what they say about it.....

Thanks Mark, I've tried scaling down but, of course, you lose as everything gets smaller.....

Monitor size
All, Is there a minimum monitor size applicable to both Cumulus1 and CumulusMX. I recall Steve asked what sizes we were using some long while ago. See two screen prints of my Cumulus and CumulusMX - both examples are as they come from the software. On Cumulus1 I can just see the front end on the scr...

Inside
I'm looking at the webfiles from MX.
They, obviously, show options to view inside temperate and humidity.
As an option, how much of the code do I need to adjust to stop these showing. The readings have little relevance to viewers outside our house (I would hope!)
