Re: Limited Weather Stations
Also, and I hope I'm not coming across as crass here, but this software is being provided free of charge. Many weather station companies would want you to purchase their software, when in most cases their software is substandard as it compares to other solutions. I've just found that CumulusMX, for ...

Re: Anemometer against a spider
Magpies sitting on the Anemometer & shitting down onto the wind cups & body is my biggest Baine. It can get glued up to the point it needs 10km/h to register. Rain usually washes it off & clears it. Need a few bird spikes, but it's around 9m up. I got the updated Davis rain cone and it ...

Re: Question regarding Davis DavisTotalPacketsReceived webtag
Davis just messed up! Like you have found you do not notice until near the end of the day when the packet count can exceed the variable limit. To convert the correct value you can just add 65536 to the returned value if it is negative. Yeah, I would have never noticed it before I was using the newe...

Re: Question regarding Davis DavisTotalPacketsReceived webtag
Actually, looking at that log entry the console is using a signed 16 bit int to hold the value because it is sending "2D-33-32-35-37-39" = -32579 I'll add a correction in the next release of CMX to allow for this... Is there a way to normalize that specific data or is it just not going to...

Re: SQL Custom Upload Question
Is it possible for CMX to insert data in to two different table names at the same interval? I had an idea I wanted to try out, but I am already using seconds/minutes interval in the custom uploads. I don't think it would be CMX's function to do this; if you're using a custom can you string two inse...

Re: Anemometer against a spider
Has happened to me numerous times. It's why I have my anemometer on a telescoping flag pole so I can run the pole down and take care of that stuff. Aha... Mine is at two meters height so i can do with a broom and a onve a year total unmounted washing :D Yeah, when I feel like not running it down I ...

Re: Question regarding Davis DavisTotalPacketsReceived webtag
Looks like you are using Signed smallint i.e. range -32768 to 32767 The range for Unsigned is 0 to 65535, should do the trick. OK I changed that to UNSIGNED and it was set to BIGINT (I thought I set to UNSIGNED as part of my troubleshooting) but the snippet I provided was directly from the MXdiag f...

Question regarding Davis DavisTotalPacketsReceived webtag
So, for the last week or so I've set up a custom SQL insert to add some Davis reception stats to a table. It's been working fine, but what I'm seeing is that once that value gets above 32767 (my guess is it's that value), the values inserted change to a negative number. It's just one value at the en...

Re: Loggin and password for acces
ok, i'll see about a solution thanks Alot of routers have built in VPN servers now. I have an Asus router which has two options; OpenVPN (most secure) and PPTP (not really secure). Both have their advantages. PPTP, while insecure, offers Windows machines native access without having to install clie...

Re: NOAA files not uploading to web page
I will leave my installation in the default Windows location (where Cumulus 1 put it The Cumulus 1 installer allows you to choose where to install the program, and the recommendation even with Cumulus 1 is not to install in the program files area - see https://cumuluswiki.org/a/FAQ#What_do_I_need_t...

Re: Alternative CumulusMX Interface
I noticed in index.html you're missing a span tag for the temp trend that makes that value populate with the span default of -.-. This can be corrected by just changing that initial <span> tag to <span id="TempTrend"> . This is on line 115. Also, the gauges page seems to continually cycle ...
