b3145 minor issue
Regarding the NOAA reports setup page. I was going through and updating my means/averages (as I had done in the previous versions of CMX over the years) and when I did this, I realized the value I put in for July didn't stick after I saved. Just July, for whatever reason, but it also appears to take...

Re: NOAA files not uploading to web page
Maybe the spaces in the Windows path part of the files is causing the error that it can't find the file? That's why I didn't put CMX (when I ran it on Windows) in the "Program Files (x86)" directory. I put it in a directory simply named "CumulusMX" in the root of C:\ You might tr...

Re: Question about upgrading from b3043 on a RPI3b...
There is something about how to do the database upgrade for additional fields. Try this https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=17887&p=142085&hilit=database#p142085 Thanks, that got me going in the right direction enough so that I was able to make the table modifications and...

Re: Question about upgrading from b3043 on a RPI3b...
OK, so instead of doing the stepped upgrade I did a full backup of my old CMX folder with all the data intact. I then just used a new MicroSD card and used the premade RPI image. That was a lot simpler but there were still some things I needed to tweak to make them like I had mine before, like getti...

Question about upgrading from b3043 on a RPI3b...
Ok, I was pretty well versed in this for a while, and have been interested in updating for some time but wanted to see what I would need to do first. Currently, I have MX b3043 installed on a RPi3B rev1.2. Obviously it's running mono, but I remember having to lock mono to a certain version for this....

Re: Accessing my C MX weather via WAN/internet?
I have an old Asus router with Merlin firmware on it and it runs an OpenVPN server without a hitch. I can access it from my mobile phone using the OpenVPN app as well as any pc I'm on. Works like a charm.... Maybe that is a solution for my planned remote CMX install. Presume your Router is on a tru...

Re: Accessing my C MX weather via WAN/internet?
You can, but it means opening ports in your firewall which is not advisable. The CMX admin interface is designed only for local LAN use as it is has no security..... Simple Solution is a good router that will give you a secure VPN. Having a Dynamic IP or even being behind CG-NAT is not an issue now...

Re: Twitter upload problem
I've been able to get around the issue but it takes a little effort. You'll need to set up as a developer on Twitter and create an app, get your own tokens, and then use a python script with a Twitter library in order to use those tokens. I'm using the RPI3 with Wheezy, so if you have that I can sor...

Re: Email notification when no update
The title of the post is for something else (although for you it might also be helpful) but further into the thread I discuss how to handle this. Make sure you read the whole thread before you invest in working it though. Some valuable evolution to the method used for this happens during it. https:/...

Notice for those using MX and making some MySQL changes
Thought I would document a defect I found (don't worry Steve I'm not calling for a fix, just noting for other users) that involves decommisioning MySQL in MX. Last week I took my MySQL server offline while I shuffle hardware around. In doing so, I deactivated MySQL on MX (obviously) and blanked out ...

Re: Raspberry Pi: Long term reliability
I have an Odroid XU4 that I'm seriously looking at putting CMX on. That might be overkill, but it's a good bit of hardware (2x USB3.0 + 1x USB2.0, 1 HDMI1.4, builtin bluetooth, builtin wifi, 8 core processor). Right now I'm using it to serve up 2 external 4TB hard drives using NFS to my Media Server...

Re: Raspberry Pi: Long term reliability
I don't know. The whole point of the pi is space and low power consumption. I've had a Pi 3 now for about 18 months using an SD card and it's worked fine for me. However, I also have a backup plan in place for my Cumulus files that I run daily to my cloud (Google Drive). I think connecting the pi to...
Re: How come?
Mine is usually pretty close to my local airport temperature..usually within a degree or so. The humidity, due to my microclimate is always higher. Here's what my siting looks like.
Red circle is my ISS placement/anemometer placement.

Re: Accessing my C MX weather via WAN/internet
New problem -sorry :o http://m1byt.hopto.org:8998/gauges.html I have added the port and etc. through my router, to the R Pi's weather site, that seems to be working via the above link, it is showing the gauges and I can click the buttons, select everything, but ----- there is no data showing at all...
