Re: Customising the local dashboard

OK, thanks Mark. Any chance of a pointer on the other question please: 'Is there a listing anywhere of the data that's returned from the dashboard's websocket call for the latest live data?' ie the JSON. Or is the assumption reasonable that all (or most?) available data items are maybe already effec...

Re: Customising the local dashboard

Sounds like caching. Yes, I did wonder. It did persist after closing CMX completely and restarting. But maybe it was somehow still in the browser cache. Still a bit odd though, after showing a new version of the page it then reverted to the previous (standard) version of the page after the CMX rest...

Customising the local dashboard

A couple of questions on customising the local dashboard (index.html) if anyone has played with this: Is there any simple way of using webtags to access data for the dashboard, even something obvious like the location to put in a header? Or would some extra JS be necessary to make eg an HTTP POST/GE...

Re: TESTING - Raspberry Pi Image for Cumulus MX

I do run MX on a Pi0W as a test system. In general it runs OK, the catch-up processing can be a quite a bit slower than normal though. Actually, I wonder if there'll be a new Pi0 before too long - maybe same form factor & connectors & lowish price but better CPU/speed (not sure what they'd ...

Re: TESTING - Raspberry Pi Image for Cumulus MX

Mark, I guess this should work on all models of Pi (might be worth saying so explicitly?). I don't know whether people feel that a Pi 1 or Pi Zero generally has enough horsepower, but I've run CMX on a Pi0 in the past and it seemed OK. A Pi0W (the wireless version) in a minimal case running headless...

Re: Davis AirLink Professional Air Quality Sensor (7210UK)

No, because I think the wording in the Davis app is trying to the say the AQI is a "low" number. What it should be saying is that the air quality is "Good" - or whatever the used AQI scale says for its lowest value. Davis are aware of this issue, but 'low' seems to have been use...

[IMPLEMENTED] Simpler CMX use on Raspberry Pi

Hope no-one minds if I pull this out into a new thread for posterity from the server-side graphics one because I do think this is an important topic. IMO the learning curve for using CMX on the Pi is significant for anyone not very familiar with Raspberry Pi or Linux in general and is definitely dis...

Re: Davis AirLink Professional Air Quality Sensor (7210UK)

Your air seems remarkably 'clean' - are those figures correct ? I think the air over much of the UK (certainly the Eastern half) is indeed pretty clean ATM, courtesy of the present weather setup and winds. But to show you an AirLink graph with more 'signal' (in fact this looks more like an IR spect...

Re: Server side graphics

To be clear, this isn't intended as criticism of CMX in the slightest but just exploring ways in which CMX could be made more accessible to more users. And sorry this may well be OT in respect of serverside graphics, but let me just complete my more general comment: I would argue that to run CMX out...

Re: Server side graphics

I'd certainly add a vote here for simplicity. A lot of people buy weather stations who are not expert computer users - they may well use their phones for texts etc, PCs or tablets for web-browsing, email etc but beyond familiarity with these basic tools, their computer skills may be relatively limit...

Re: Davis VP2 WeatherLink IP Failed to connect to the station

1.15 for the logger is - I believe - quite old. You must be thinking of something else - for the IP logger v1.15 (also sometimes written as v1.1.5) is the latest available F/W. TBH I wouldn't expect anything newer to be released now that the IP logger has been discontinued, but you never know - con...

Re: Inside temp problem?

Can't recall what sort of logger you've got and it may not be the logger anyway, but if the slight 'noise' on the inside temp reading coincides with loss of reception from the ISS then it might be the console trying to resynch at intervals with the ISS. For whatever reason maybe the heat output from...

Re: Davis AirLink Professional Air Quality Sensor (7210UK)

The product is Davis designed, manufactured and tested in the USA. - thats a bit of a stretch I guess. Just a careful choice of words I'd suggest. Certainly designed and tested. And the station (or AL unit in this case) is manufactured, ie assembled in the US without question. Where the individual ...
