Re: Cumulus 1.9.4 beta build 1071 - UV data with a decimal p

Also I noticed what may be a small bug. Using easyweather.dat as input method, the names of the data fields (Light, Solar Rad, UV) in the Solar Section, are only shown correctly if in the station setup menu I activate the option "use B/L". If this option is not active, the fileds are show with the n...

Yes I know. We talked about it ...
It would be good that the field could also accept data with a decimal point. The resulting graphs would look much better.

Thanks for your attention

Cumulus 1.9.4 beta build 1071 - UV data with a decimal point

Cumulus 1.9.4 beta build 1071 is available. •For 'easyweather.dat' input method: Read UV and Lux values from easyweather.dat file if 'extra sensors' selected. Hi Steve. Many thanks for having extended suport for this two new data fields in 'easyweather.dat' input method. Any chance of a future vers...

Re: Homebrew Davis Solar sensor

Just a photo-diode and an op-amp (well two op-amps actually, but only one is required). The diode I used is the BPW34, but it is a bit too large really, the current draw of my sensor is a little more than the Davis - but only significantly (10's of mWs) when the sun is shining, so the solar charger...

Re: Homebrew Davis Solar sensor

Very interesting. What type of sensor used? Can you give more details about the hardware?

Thanks

Re: decent stand alone UV sensor?

Thanks, yes that's an "interesting" device which certainly offers the potential for far better accuracy than (say) a FO 308x station. However, I am a little concerned that it was already "discontinued" at the first supplier I found, and the second (DealExtreme) have rather a reputation for selling ...

Re: decent stand alone UV sensor?

With an Arduino and this module (UVM-30A UV Sensor Module) I believe you can do a decent UV-B sensor. The problem is how to make the data avaiable to Cumulus. UVM-30A UV Sensor Module Operating voltage: DC 3-5V Output voltage: DC 0-1V Test accuracy: 1 UV INDEX Operating Current: typ 0.06mA maximum v...

Re: Rainfall rate graphic does not update

Perhaps it didn't get to read the files with the rain rates in them before they were overwritten? This is an important clue!!! I think you can be right, possibly the data is overvritten, before Cumulus can read it. I will investigate this possibility and report back. Many thanks for this clue. Rega...

Re: Rainfall rate graphic does not update

The easyweather.dat file is created by an Arduino. The rainfall rate data is present on the file, I have checked that. I post two images, hope they help to see the problem. Today rainfall rate has ploted only one time (13:00) http://www.meteocercal.info/files_for_sites/raint1.png http://www.meteocer...

Rainfall rate graphic does not update

I'm using latest Cumulus version, and easyweather.dat file.

Since two days the rainfall rate graphic is always with a line at zero point. It was worked nicelly before, even with this latest version. I have checked the easyweather.dat file and the rainfall rate data is there.
Any sugestion? a bug?

Re: Converting Lux to W/m2

Hi

What formula was been adopted in Cumulus for Fine Offset stations conversion from Lux to W/m2 ?

685 Lux= 1W/m2 or 1 Lux = 0,0079 W/m2

Thanks

No problem Charlie. Re: Wind readings quite high after battery change?

I just tried to help ... to my station (Venturis clone), the indicated procedure is described in the user manual. My apologies, if to others this is complete nonsense.

"Hold the wind vane pointing due north and do not allow it to turn.
Insert 2 pieces of AA batteries."
