Re: FTP upload error

@water01. I am the friend who initially set this site up successfully for Scott and a number of other users. It was a few years back.It is hard for some to understand just how difficult and complex this is for non computer types (they do exist!), mainly because they don't understand the jargon that ...

Re: Maplin in administration - where to buy spare parts now?

Mine still going strong after 10 years! Love the "Trigger's broom" comment. A few spare components from time to time all at ridiculously low prices. I doubt it's cost me more than £15 per year and with a special screen and the ability to calibrate in Cumulus I reckon it beats Davies machines hands d...

Re: Help!

Hi Steve, thanks for the quick reply. I do a reasonable amount of backups but must admit that file isn't one that I have been that precious about and I guess it's not that essential to. I have one from last year and I think most of the settings will be the same. Are there likely to be any snags if I...

Help!

Not had this happen to me in 9 years! Cumulus crashed and when re-started and has come up with a brand new default configuration settings file, wiping out all the previous internet settings and everything else. I have all the data files and web files but is the previous version of the config setting...

Yep. Bit of a tedious search but 21st and 22nd May duplicated for some reason. Sorted.
Thanks Steve

Re: Funny one in annual rainfall summary!

Seems most likely, I'll have a look. Checked with another user and they have 367 ! Could be same reason of course.

Funny one in annual rainfall summary!

Whilst viewing and storing my annual stats I noticed that in the <view this year> option summary I got for 2016:- Rain days 156 Dry days 212 .... which adds up to 368, not the expected leap year total of 366. I looked back and both 2015 and 2014 added up to 366 but before that they did add up to 365...

Re: Intermittent data upload to website

Hi - thanks for the suggestions. I had a Eureka moment this morning and finally sorted it. I'd been down the route you've suggested with USB etc and as it works fine with Ethernet cable it had to be an Wifi issue. Re-installing W10 probably sorted driver issues so it had to be bad, slow internet/ser...

Re: Intermittent data upload to website

Yes - not resolved but it looks like a Windows 10 issue to me. I don't expect you to reply Steve as it's not a Cumulus issue but just some thoughts on it which may benefit others if it happens. After all sorts of trials and tribulations with drivers and wondering about the network adapter I decided ...

Intermittent data upload to website

All of a sudden data from Cumulus is failing to upload to my website. However it does so every now and again, every few hours or so.The connection is basically timing out and it says this if I do a manual web update. I can upload an FTP log if it helps but before I do my thoughts are thus:- I'm fair...

Re: Intermittent loss of sensor contact

Further to the above the Windows 10 notion now looks unlikely as it would presumably affect all parameters, e.g. pressure and not just those coming from the outside sensor. On examination of the error log it would appear that the sensor is sending lots of spiked readings which are being ignored by m...

Re: Vue rainfall in windy conditions

Hi Chris. Looking at it logically if the ground is wet it must be falling vertically at some point! It can't continue horizontally indefinitely so gravity will take over all along that axis and it must fall into the gauge. What it will do is alter the accuracy of the results due to the overall turbu...

Re: Intermittent loss of sensor contact

Are we maybe barking up the wrong tree with this? I've been going for 8 years now and have been through the battery thing. I've noticed (and so has a friend with the same set up) that the number of unexplained "flat liners" has increased in recent months. I need to get the error log running again to...

Re: Cumulus 'locking up' W10 64bit

This may or may not be connected but another Cumulus user gone over to Windows 10 was having flat lining while he was away. It appeared to coincide with Windows updates. I have had one or two that a simple restart has fixed. But yesterday my temperature dived 15C and stayed there and wind was wrong ...

Re: Data corruption on exit/restart of Cumulus

Okay thanks Steve. Doubt I would have spotted that after 5 years running. Must have crept in after the migration and re-installation.
Mind you I can now see "Sunshine hours" in <today> on my website.
Cheers,
Dave
