Wind vane solution !
Steve was a little concerned about the random look of the wind direction plots, so I have just been having a look at the problem... I have just been trying to observe the wind direct vane, to see if I can work out why it doesn't produce any sensible readings in Cumulus. This plots both an instantain...

Re: Wind directions
My graph is very random and in part I was blaming it on the vane just seeming to rotate wildly in light winds. It does seem to settle its direction better as the wind speed increases. I'm looking at all sorts of solutions to improve it... 1. Thick grease on the bearing. 2. Make the tail surface area...

Re: Feature request
That sounds great
The hibernate is my one outstanding major issue. EW would either pick up where it left off, or simply lock up after an hibernate.
FYI Since the monsoon problems of which I made you aware, there have been no further problems with rain

Re: cumulus
It is covered fully in the Help included with the software.
You need to know the FTP URL and password for your site + upload certain files from the Cumulus directory onto your site, then fill in the setting details in Cumulus's Internet settings, save it and away it goes.

Feature request
Steve... Is there anyway that either of the following could be included in Cumulus please... 1. Cumulus notices that the PC has been hibernated and when restarted Cumulus grabs the data it has missed whilst it was hibernated. Perhaps check the current time and compare to the last time it downloaded ...

A liitle Util?
I wonder if anyone might be able to write a small utility to trim the data files back to sound data? The problem I have is that as often as not - I forget to shut Cumulus down when I hibernate my system. The result is that when I turn my system back on, Cumulus doesn't know it has been turned off an...

Re: stand alone WX system - PC free
There is a way, but it costs. I don't really know what I'm talking about, however... There is a specialised router/modem into which you can plug a USB weather station and have it puts it's data out to a web site. You add code in the unit and it can then stand alone. Wether it might work with the FO/...

Re: Gauges Page
Try it with Internet Settings/ Use active FTP Mode - both ticked and unticked. My wind gauges were a lot intermitant until I unticked it, but now working fine.

Re: Maintainence issues with MyDEL or similar
No, it wasn't my original idea - I just adopted and adapted it. The original idea used threaded rods and lots of nuts to hold the drip trays in position. Short bits of tube make it quicker and cheaper to assemble. Do a search on the http://www.midlandsweather.org.uk/ - You should be able to find the...

Re: Maintainence issues with MyDEL or similar
The MyDel - is the Watson, is the WH-1081 etc., which I also have. The screen doesn't quite cover the battery compartment and the plugs when the rain is horizontal. To help prevent rain penetration I initially added some duct tape over the battery compartment and around the plugs so the water ran aw...

Re: Real time?
I have just tried deleting the realtime.txt and restarting Cumulus. It created a new file, and the reatime date along the bottom of my web page changed to todays date.

I didn't realise the setting was in seconds, I'll multiply the 5 setting by 60.
