Re: Webcam lens

What about the ones you can buy for the mobile phones?
Great idea - I will give that a look.

Re: Windows 8.1 Preview/IE 11 erratic behaviour

I can't get your page including the birds to fail on my installation of 8.1 though.
That is comforting to know.

So its my system - as suggested above perhaps a device driver issue.

Re: Windows 8.1 Preview/IE 11 erratic behaviour

Or perhaps it can't handle so many angry birds
It is the bird.js (in my case - gulls.js) code that is giving IE 11 a fit!

IE 10, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera have no problems. I guess IE 11 is still quirky and loaded with debugging code - Best wait for the release version.

Re: Windows 8.1 Preview/IE 11 erratic behaviour

Was it the desktop or metro version of IE 11 that produced the corruption? Desktop I have now had a bit more than 24 hours with it now - and the erratic behavior is inconsistent. Yesterday it occurred with every page load. Some times it was failure to display the gauges other times the black rectan...

Windows 8.1 Preview/IE 11 erratic behaviour

Installed Win 8.1 preview - you will like it better than 8.0 - but most likely if you don't like 8.0 you won't really like 8.1 for all the same reasons. But I digress from the intent of this message. Along with 8.1 you get IE 11 which at first glance looks great. Load up your SteelSeries gauges and ...

Anybody have a source or idea for 2X or similar telephoto lens attachments which might fit a Microsoft Lifecam Studio Webcam.

Re: How long have you been running Cumulus?

gwheelo, looking at your site your observations started on 10 December 2010. So how long have you been running Cumulus? The question does not mention "non-stop". I suspect I am not the only one who missed a day here or there or lost data at one time or another or experienced equipment failure - I ha...

Forum member 4 - Wed Jun 11, 2008 7:36 pm - and yes Steve wins by 7 days -of course we may assume Steve was using Cumulus long before the forum went live. And I have never enjoyed an application more nor have I enjoyed a forum and its members more - all due to the steady, calm, knowledgeable, partic...

Re: NeverWet

WD-40 is working for me to prevent soap scum build up on shower tiles. I have read that it works for windshields (excuse me, windscreens), etc. In general if you can't find a product to do something that has to be done - just try WD-40. I once used WD-40 very successfully to clean candle wax off an ...

15 meter USB

It works - 15 meter powered USB repeater cable a complete success. Here is one running a Microsoft LifeCam Studio at 800 X 600 resolution - stills and stream. New home rules ( not allowed on the roof anymore - its an age thing) required a new camera location much further away from the server than a ...

Had not thought of that - good point - I am quickly changing my mind.

Thanks Steve,

Re: Cumulus PHP-GD Avatar

Anybody know how to add either the Avatar or the Banner as a signature in gmail with it appearing as a link to my Cumulus "Home" page. I know how to cut and paste - I want it automated.

Interesting as I need that resolution to parse the bearing into the local wind names and subnames. See: http://www.wheelocknet.net/cumulus/wind.html?gb

Re: Turn on user Led ?

My code is never a good model to use but this is how I am changing the UerLed color: if (_temp.selected === 'out') { //alert(tempBase); _gaugeTemp.setUserLedVisible(true); if (_gaugeTemp.setUserLedOnOff) { if(tempBase <=0) { _gaugeTemp.setUserLedOnOff(true); _gaugeTemp.setUserLedColor(steelseries.Le...
