Re: Thanks Cumulus-Moving to Weatherhub2

Thanks for your comments. I would like to stay away from wifi, which is why I chose PoE. My router (Netgear WND3300) has 10 items hooked up to it already. Most are used as needed. Dish (TV) and Weatherhub2 are hot all the time (Wired). My IPhone is wireless. My HP printer is also wireless, but unles...

Re: Thanks Cumulus-Moving to Weatherhub2

It works! Wasn't too difficult to set up for a novice. To actually connect back to PWS I had to use my log on (Station ID) unter the HAMweather network. (just like b.e.wilson said) Other than that everything seems to be working well. Another nice feature is email notifications. I'll be using it for ...

Re: Thanks Cumulus-Moving to Weatherhub2

Yes-I'm with PWS. I'll have to check the software that comes with the hub to find out how to enable it.

Thanks!

Thanks Cumulus-Moving to Weatherhub2

Well, as much as I love your software, I've decided to move on to a Weatherhub2 http://www.ambientweather.com/weambnslu2.html Server. I've left my home PC on long enough and want to continue with my weather broadcasting without the hassles of restarting the PC when we loose power. (Yes I loose the m...

Lightening and transmitters

Is it safe to say that if a lightning strike nearby could take out a transmitter? (Not direct hit, but very close) I took the weather station down this morning to troubleshoot. I pushed the reset button on the unit and it did not change anyting. The owners book also states to remove the batteries, r...

Re: Free websites to broadcast weather data?? And how to upl

robynfali- If you read my previous post it was noted that I attempted to install the gadget per creators instructions. I did not have a stack of books icon. I had the winzip Icon. When I changed the extention and clicked on it, it wanted to extract the files. For me, having a executable file inside ...

Re: Free websites to broadcast weather data?? And how to upl

OK. Stupid question. Why can't I use my desktop computer to host my weather station? Are there security measues to prevent hacking in these cases? I have 200 GB of space available. How much room would someone need?

Ok you can start :bash: me!

Re: Free websites to broadcast weather data?? And how to upl

Regarding the gadget. Is there a click and install program for this? I tried your .zip file and even renamed it .gadget. It doesn't install. It just opens the file showing me the zipped files. I don't see a .exe file. Broadcasting on your site: I gather from what I'm reading, I need to find a site t...

Re: Free websites to broadcast weather data?? And how to upl

I just installed my weather station yesterday. Its a WS1080. (Same hardware as W8681) I found three free sites to broadcast on: 1. Weather underground- http://www.wunderground.com/swf/Rapid_Fire.swf?units=english&station=KPAHOMER2 2. PWS weather- http://www.pwsweather.com/obs/KPAHOMER2.html 2. C...
