Re: Meteobridge_NANO

Indeed, with the Wifilogger and this new device coming out, things are looking up on the weather station software again. Just wonder what price Meteobridge intend on selling this for? Boris does have a target price in mind, but I'd better leave any announcement to him. But yes the latest Nano versi...

Re: Meteobridge_NANO

YShame Davis doesn't keep up with the technology like these innovators. I don't disagree, but just by way of comment: Davis's recent priorities have been (1) EM (which is an important and strongly-selling product but not, I know, very visible to the hobbyist market) and (2) weatherlink.com and I su...

Re: WiFiLogger for Davis stations

v1.17 is now available. I'm also maintaining a WiFi logger section on our Davis knoweldgebase, so this shoould be a backup to other sources of firmware and WFL information online. You can find the relevant section at:

Re: WiFiLogger for Davis stations

Will this WiFiLogger allow simultaneous uploading to weatherlink.com and connecting to CumulusMX and/or WeeWX? I'll be glad to test one out here in the US :) . Also, what will the pricing be? phil If you're in the US then you need to look at Ryan's online shop: https://www.scaledinstruments.com/sho...

Re: WiFiLogger for Davis stations

Works great and uploads to WL.com, WU, PWS Weather, AWEKAS, CWOP and now also WOW, as well as logger data. There are settings to use with Cumulus or Weatherlink. That's all correct (of course :) ), but I'm just being slightly cautious about uploads to wl.com. For anyone who is already uploading via...

Re: WiFiLogger for Davis stations

We will be distributing this WiFi logger for Europe (and further afield if requested, but Ryan will be handling the Americas via Scaled Instruments). We are expected a first limited batch of stock by the start of next week (w/b 18th June) but pre-orders are welcome. We have some preliminary informat...

Re: Python script emulating vantage protocol

Remember that in addition to populating the LOOP/LOOP2 packets, any emulator software also presumably needs to emulate the API by which data packets are normally requested from the WL logger. This isn't necessarily difficult but would be essential if any analysis software is going to think that your...

Re: Davis VP2 Relay Device

Very interesting Mark - congratulations and HNY. But can you say in which ways you see this as different from Meteostick (and hence eg Meteobridge Pro Red)? Is it just the undoubted satisfaction of rolling your own circuitry, or do you see significant differences in functionality?

Re: Wind data from Davis Pro2

The answer, I think, is that the costly part - including development as well as low-volume production costs - of creating a loggable, self-powered, wireless sensor is in the wireless transmitter and receiving devices and the logger itself. Once you have these components then it's relatively simple a...

Re: Wind data from Davis Pro2

It's not obvious from your post whether the anemometer is local to the PC or remote from it. Different solutions in each case.

Re: Davis 6162

As far as I know the only difference with the EU version is the power supply supplied with it. Yep, that's it, other than multi-language manuals with EU. Davis still don't use multi-region AC adapters and so the EU ones have the 2-pin type. One word of caution: There are one or two EU-based dealers...

Sorry, only one connection at a time to WeatherlinkIP - it cannot function as a multi-client server.

Re: Davis PRO2 and Daytime FARS

There is an Ultrasonic anemometer available for the Davis: https://www.darrera.com/en/detalle-producto.php?d=1&id=229 There are other substantially cheaper Davis-compatible options available too like the LCJ ones - as it happens there's one my office desk right now awaiting installation for long-te...

Re: Davis PRO2 and Daytime FARS

Thanks John. I'm no expert on these things so happy to accept your explanation. But please remember that my speculation is nothing more than that - an informed guess if you will. It's a slight frustration for us as UK dealers that while we have excellent contacts with Davis sales and support servic...

Re: Davis PRO2 and Daytime FARS

I raised that with Davis several years ago and was told "we'll look into it". Needless to say, nothing happened. Whilst they make excellent kit the decision not to be able to connect UV and Solar sensors to the wind transmitter is baffling. I think that if it was easy to do then it would have been ...
