Re: Theoretical Solar

Oh good grief, I remember now. yes, as you change it you get a step in the curve don't you. I need to change it during daylight and wait!

Thanks Mark

Theoretical Solar

Steve, I'm not convinced about the theoretical solar. I tried changing the transmission factor a little bit and the theoretical solar, at least as reported by the height of the curve on the graph, did not change. I tried various factors between 0.8 and 0.95 and still can't see a change. I am right t...

Re: Cumulus Support for Weathercloud

I have knocked up a little program to post data to Weathercloud. I am currently testing it. It reads realtime.txt either via http requests from a web site or directly from realtime.txt in the cumulus folder - it uses the data from realtime.txt as its data source. It needs to run on a Windows machine...

Re: New Install - High Records (255 Wind, 999 Temp)

Been away for a few weeks as our Vantage Pro 2 finally packed in and had to be replaced - now back up and running and i have installed vr15. All is good apart from some odd daily records - 255 on Wind etc: http://weather.casa.ucl.ac.uk/record.htm I thought i would report it as I'm not sure where th...

Re: Where ist it?

You can always copy the data folder back to Cumulus 1 and run the reports there until Steve has programmed them. Its probably best to intentionally "break" Cumulus 1 by setting the communications parameters to something incorrect (e.g. a non-existent COM port) so running Cumulus1 won't clash with th...

I use the console average.
Now, there is really odd! Same setup, same firmware - my console throws its hands in the air for a few seconds after time update - returns 255 for wind average - yours doesn't.

Re: Davis console clock update at 04:00hrs

oh, and Twitter fell over in a heap at 05:00:07 - I guess because of the wind averages being zero or similar or 255 - due to the clock update at 04:59:39 still causing the Console to be in a bit of a quiver...

Davis console clock update at 04:00hrs

Hi Steve,

Looks like you are updating the clock in the Davis every few minutes between 04:00 and 05:00. It further looks like setting the clock makes the Davis throw away its wind averages for a few seconds - but thats to be expected I guess.

I noticed the console was synced more closely. I put it down to chance.

Re: Wind spike ignored

Steve, I just installed build 3015. I noted that you had put code in to set the clock so I thought I would test it by setting the console clock wrong by a minutes or so and then stop and start Cumulus to see if it set the clock - it did! However, while I fiddled with the console I left Cumulus runni...

Re: Wind rose on the gauges page

Err, no. The wind rose works normally, i.e. where the wind is coming from. Aggregation appears to be the last 10 minutes. Steve will correct me if I am wrong on that last.
