Re: Not downloading all of Davis archive

Quite frankly Steve, unless you are doing some low level, direct to disk I/O - which I very much doubt), you shouldn't be able to "[do] something wrong" and I can't be bothered with software (Drivepool) that works at this sort of basic level (disk I/O). It should be pretty much bombproof. It has alr...

Re: Not downloading all of Davis archive

Thanks for the test Steve. If it does turn out to be Drivepool it will be really annoying (from the point of view of using that software) it will mean I can never trust it properly - what other software will cause the issue? I will see if I can do two more tests one on Drivepool, restoring back to t...

Re: Not downloading all of Davis archive

Thanks for your thoughts Steve. I will have to mull over what you have said. I tried the restore/rerun 4 times times and looking at the logs now, they do indeed all stop at 1010 hrs. Below is another example. Your comment that it might be failing writing a file has got me thinking and I have to ment...

Not downloading all of Davis archive

Steve, at around 17:00 yesterday I shut CumulusMX down and rebooted the PC. What I didn't spot was that upon starting up Cumulus was broken. cumulus.ini had been reset back to a new file and cumulus was just sitting there wondering what kind of station it was supposed to connect to. I only spotted t...

    I broke it

I replaced a hard drive in the PC running Cumulus. I simply copied everything off, replaced the HDD and copied everything back on to the new disk. Cumulus was on the disk in question. All is working great except, when I use the UI from any other PC the Dashboard, Now and Gauges screens display but d...

I thought so... Your loop counters i and j gave it away. (me too, Fortran, punch cards, uni, IBM 370-145).

    Hi Mark,

Just a quick thank you for these graphs. Very nice. They work perfectly.

Can I ask, have you ever programmed in Fortran in your dim and distant past?

    Re: Cumulus Support for Weathercloud

Just a quick update on my Weathercloud program. Weathercloud are now testing it and going to put instructions on their website. They are taking a quite bit of time so in the meantime if anyone is interested in using it now you can download the program from www.willandweather.org.uk/wxsoftware.php. L...

Re: IOException causing extra file generation to stop

Hi Steve, It did it again. A can't find a reason that txttmp file should be being used. Did you ever try to see if you could move the code? Sorry for the delay. Because it was a new SD card, I rebuilt it. I understand you can just swap - if you had a micro SD in an adapter in the old Pi of course.

Err, difficult to tell (I'm no Linux expert). HTOP shows several CumulusMX processes (threads?) all apparently using less than 0.0% cpu
Sorry can't be more helpful - unless someone tells me how to tell!
