In order to set up two factor authorisation you need a cell phone ... and I don't have one. There is no cell phone coverage in our area so owning a cell phone would be pointless

Email alerts with gmail account
Today I got an email from Google: A suspicious app was blocked from accessing your account Following a link for an explanation I got: To help keep your account secure, starting May 30, 2022, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign in to your Google ...

I have used Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA batteries in a WH1080 for 3 years running, through -40°C winters and 35°C summers. When I eventually exchanged them for new ones, I could still use the old ones for a TV remote our my computer mouse for a long time. I have no experience with rechargebles, bu...

Wind data HTTP (Ecowitt) vs. Ecowitt GW1000
It's winter: light snow at -26°C, not much incentive to go outside. Rummaging through my spare parts bin I find an unused Raspberry Pi and an Ecowitt GW1000 gateway. Whoa, why don't I create a backup CumulusMX system? Ready ... set ... go Here is what I did: • Clone (!) the SD card of my main system...

Re: Webtags <#rmonth> and <#ryear> report 0.0
Try enabling the "no sensor check" option.... Station Settings -> Common Options -> Sensor Check Thank you Mark, that did the trick. Best wishes for the upcoming holidays to you and the whole Cumulus community. Maybe you won't get a white Christmas, but it should be a little bit warmer th...

Re: Webtags <#rmonth> and <#ryear> report 0.0
Sorry no the webtags are working fine, suggest you look at the file that is requesting them as that looks like a PHP request. @water01: You are right, CMX does still calculate those two webtags, just not all the time. Waking up in the middle of the night I had the reason why CMX was reporting 0 in ...

Webtags <#rmonth> and <#ryear> report 0.0
I use my own templates to generate extra web files. One of these templates has a section like this: ... $rmonth = <#rmonth>; // The total rainfall so far this month $ryear = <#ryear>; // The total rainfall so far this year ... This code isn't working any more. The output is: ... $rmonth = 0.0; // Th...

Re: Ecowitt WH41 air quality sensor mystery
Would people be burning their stoves at night? Smoke from wood fires are known (under favorite wind conditions) to give high levels of PM. Sure there are wood fires, but that would be much more of a problem during the day. In the evening you usually let your woodstove burn down, except it is REALLY...

Ecowitt WH41 air quality sensor mystery
I'm very much aware that low cost air quality sensors like the WH41 have their limitations. But still ... Here is the situation: for a few nights now I have observed unusually high AQ readings while the air quality was actually fine. I'm now trying to figure out what the reasons for these mis-readin...

Re: Limited Weather Stations
The Ecowitt line of weather stations and sensors is sold in the US by Ambient weather. They sell complete kits and separate sensors. Under "Outdoor Weather Sensors" and "Parts & Accessories" you will find everything you need. (Ha, Mark beat me to it

Re: Ecowitt WS80 heater
So now I can confirm that the heater for the WS80 definitivly messes up the temperature measurements. Look at the graph: Image4.jpg At 05:05 this morning I switched on the heater because the windspeed had flatlined for a while. Immediately the measured temperature rose quite steeply. When I switched...

Re: Build 3153 Error
This is another set of sensors and this will interfere with the data collection from the WH65. @philpugh: I have no idea why the log file first identifies my sensor array as a WH65 only to correct it to WH80 a few lines later. This has never bothered me before since I actually have a WH80 (Solar Po...
