Rain - last 24 hours

At 09.52 this morning my rain figures on the Cumulus screen are showing something I do not understand:- Last hour: 4.1 mm Today: 12.2 mm Last 24 hours: 0 mm After I first noticed it this morning I upgraded from build 1085 to 1086 but the Last 24 hour rain is still 0.0 mm. Why does it think that ther...

Re: Highest 2013 pressure in UK.

My highest pressure record (since Jul 2007) has just been broken. The reading is 1040.6 mb and it's still climbing at 0.5 mb/hr.
Meanwhile the temperature is -2.4oC and falling at 0.5oC

Selecting what to send to WOW

Steve Is there any way of temporarily stopping sending the wind data to the Met Office WOW site? Rather annoyingly, on the day that we in the south-west are about to experience very high winds, my Davis VP2 anemometer has packed up! I have set my details on the WOW site to say that I am not capturin...

Re: Top 10 Records Page

Mark
Another excellent script - thanks.
Just one query, how come the Min Wind Chill value is identical to Min Temp?
A coincidence or have I missed something?
Thanks once again for your inspirational scripts - I am learning a lot.

Re: Uk based davis anemometer repair service

Hi belfryboy
My VP2 anemometer seems to have packed up. It still rotates but there is no signal getting through to Weatherlink or Cumulus.
Are you still offering repairs?
I've sent you a PM.
Thanks

Re: Logs not updating after temp sensor died

Dave Setting the NoSensorCheck = 1 in Cumulus.ini ensures that Cumulus carrys on recording rain and wind even though the temperature sensor is not working. My Davis temperature sensor died last year and this thread https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7798 explains the procedure.

Re: Dry Spell

I've thought over the last few weeks that we are down on rain so far this year.....where do I find data of the norm? Richard I use the Met Office averages. The nearest station for Folkestone is the Ski Centre and the figures are shown at http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/climate/folkestone...

Re: Longest dry period - date

Apologies to all - I think I now know the cause. Even though it was only 14 days ago I had forgotten that because of a problem with the rain-collector I had to alter the daily rainfall amounts in dayfile.txt for the period 7th - 9th March. This, I assume, made it difficult for Cumulus to work out re...

Longest dry period - date

Steve I think there may be a small anomaly in the way that the record editor deals with the Longest dry period dates. Today have been using the excellent All time records editor and Cumulus had already set up the longest dry period as 20 days with a date of 07/03/2013. However when I clicked the Fet...

Re: ImportCumulusFile.php - version 2.0

Mark I have been using David's original script and your update to import Dayfile.txt into a MySQL database although I haven't done much with the data yet - mainly because of time pressures but also because I am still learning my way around PHP. However I have recently written a routine to import my ...

Davis VP2 rain measuring problem

Over the last few days I think there has been a problem with the amount of rain being recorded on my VP2. It seemed to be very erratic, but especially recording very high levels of rain. We have had a lot of rain in Cornwall but not at the rate I was recording. I looked at http://www.vp-kb.wikispace...

Re: Web design software recommendation

Dave I've only just seen this topic but thought it worth adding something mainly, because the reason I got involved with website designing was when I started a site for my local beekeepers' about four years ago. See http://www.holsworthybeekeepers.org.uk I knew very little at the time and started wi...
