Re: Daylight saving causing large rainfall record
Thanks for your help Steve. Files attached. I have added some notes into the .txt file to show where I have been trying to figure out what was wrong. I missed the point and expect you are right about the total rainfall. The console is showing 1288.8 mm for the year just now (16.8 mm today). I am now...

Re: Daylight saving causing large rainfall record
I am still having this problem, but I think daylight saving is sorted out. Maybe. I have set Cumulus to synchronise the station clock and turned off daylight saving on the console. So cumulus has control, and the console is set to computer time = NZ summer time. This is what is logged to the log fil...

Daylight saving causing large rainfall record
Hello On the 10th October I came home from holiday and downloaded the Vantage Vue to computer. A new record was set at that time for largest daily rainfall, and also the largest annual rainfall. It was a one-record large rainfall with zero before it. Next time I downloaded it did the same. And again...

Re: Self changing clock in Cumulus?
Hello Ray Yes, I had stopped the auto-update earlier in teh month when I noticed odd things going on. The problem has since occurred at odd times when an update was not working (unless the AV software was doing something else; I thought I had also stopped it doing system scans and so on). Maybe I do...

Re: Self changing clock in Cumulus?
Thanks Steve. I think I will try another computer. Unfortunately it will introduce 2 more walls with lots of aluminium windows between the console and the outdoor station. I have used Nettime on a previous computer. Agree it is good. But I don't think that is the problem. There is something on the c...

Self changing clock in Cumulus?
Hello After my trials last month I had Cumulus 1.8.9.930 running well. Then I found the antivirus software automatic update did funny things so I stopped that and things went well for a couple of weeks. A couple of evenings ago I did a manual update on the AV software and while that was going on I n...

Vantage Vue won't archive data?
I set up a new station in Weatherlink and downloaded the data into it. It should have been 164 records, but it was empty. In Weatherlink I reset the log interval to 1 min. while connected to console. I closed WEatherlink and restarted after a little while. It downloaded two strings but they were emp...

Re: Vantage Vue won't archive data?
The other thing I have noticed now is that the timestamp in today.ini is not being updated when there is no data to download. Is that how it should be? I have tried weatherlink 5.9.2 just now. It has downloaded 160 pages of 5 records. Funny action is that it keeps downloading every time I do another...

Re: Vantage Vue won't archive data?
.zip file attached. One thing I notice is that NZ uses a 12 hour clock + a.m. or p.m., whereas Cumulus and the consol use a 24 hour clock. Will that be causing a problem? I ran cumulus, no download. I looked at the today.ini file again, and removed the a.m. from the timestamp and saved. Cumulus put ...

Vantage Vue won't archive data?
I checked the times and time zones. I did the win7 time format reset. The winXP was on UK time, so I changed that to NZ. Time and date updated from internet time servers - little change. Console appears to be correct 10:41 3.08. Put a timestamp of Timestamp=27/07/2010 4:35:00 p.m. in today.ini, whic...

Re: Vantage Vue won't archive data?
Something odd just happened. I prepared a post, sent the attachment file, and the post disappeared. And I was logged out. So here goes, again. The win7 alltime.ini is attached, along with winXP today and yesterday.ini. I had just copied the win7 alltime.ini across to winXP before the last connection...

Re: Vantage Vue won't archive data?
Hello Steve Alltime.ini attached. I did see that about the win7 date problem and thought nothing of it because the problem is with the xp computer in the first instance. I have also tried it with the win7 computer and it also failed to obtain data there too. This was probably yesterday or even Satur...

Re: Vantage Vue won't archive data?
Hello Again I have been reading the forum today. I found your post about the latest SG USB to UART drivers, so I installed them on both the Win7 desktop and the winXP notebook. I connected the weather station to the notebook again today, and started Cumulus, which crashed on startup. So I saved the ...

Re: Vantage Vue won't archive data?
Hello Steve Thanks for your help. Diags files attached. I see a -32701 in there. It looks like communication has broken down. Under Device Manager, it shows the line in Screenhunter_01. I have com 5 set up in Cumulus. Maybe I need to set it all up again as per previous posts on this error? I do get ...

Vantage Vue won't archive data?
Hello I have a Vantage Vue. It has been running well. I have a 5 min archive interval set. I have been connecting to a Win7 computer up to last week, with Cumulus. I am now trying to set it up to connect to a Win XP SP3 laptop, like a dedicated weather computer. I copied everything across and it was...
