Re: Inside temp problem?

The indoor temperature sensors do seem to be subject to more noise than the outdoor sensors, and when the rate of change is high that can swamp the noise so it appears smoother. But Ray's graph does appear to have periods where the rate of change is low and so is the noise. No idea what is going on!...

Re: Cumulus as a server - start/stop through init.d

Thanks @Freddie, I'll add this file to the distribution, and remove the init.d script.

Re: Where does cumulus source yr rainfall

On startup it adds up all the values in the dayfile - plus any correction you may have in the YTD Rainfall in settings, plus any additional rainfall logged so far today.

Re: Yesterday Rain for 8/31/20 wrong on 9/1/20

The root cause of the problem is that MX stopped receiving data from the station at 19:25 on the 31 Aug. It then processed the rollover and set rainfall for the 31 at 2.95 There was still no response** from the station when MX was shutdown at 04:48 on the 1st When MX restarted it was still having co...

Re: Davis anemometer transmitter problems

The ISS does send every 2.5 seconds-ish regardless of what is connected to it. If the console is connected to an ISS, then the "X" on the display always refers to that, regardless of it's id.

Re: Custom HTTP Call Failing

You could try putting in the servers IPv4 address instead of the host name as a test?

A few people have been having IPv6 issues on their rPis and ended up just disabling it system wide - if you don't need it of course!

Re: Davis anemometer wind direction odd

Sorry, but I only just looked at your graph. VERY ODD! It looks like faulty hardware to me. Either the wind vane or the ISS. :bash:

Re: Custom HTTP Call Failing

I put your real time URL into MX (with a bad key obviously) and it worked OK - I got a response saying I'd used a bad key. The debug logging is quite poor for this function so I'll improve that, but it appears to be working OK for me :(

Re: Davis VP2 wind speed

Yep, VP2 only reports whole mph for all wind speeds. The WLL reports whole mph for the current reading (that's what the ISS sends), but does use tenths for averages.

Re: Unhandled Exception b3093

Thanks for reporting this, though the issue is with your access the unhandled exception should not happen. I have found the issue in the "catch up" code, and will fix it for the next release.

Re: Why?

Why 2times Cumulus has always downloaded the logger data twice, the reason is above. The last build just added the additional message when it detects the whole contents is being sent by the station. and it take a lot of time to only one before and it was quickly Have you changed your logging interv...

Re: Davis anemometer wind direction odd

Do you have a direction correction configured in the console?
The Davis anemometer has a dead spot around North, where only a few directions are reported (Davis squeeze 360 degrees into a single byte!).

Re: Records Highs and lows

I'm not sure I really understand the problem. You have corrected the dayfile to remove the bad data for 2011. You have an all time hourly of this August, but you think that is wrong. What does the all time records editor now show as the record from the dayfile? (and does this match - approximately -...

Re: Cumulus as a server - start/stop through init.d

All this is outside my knowledge area, if someone can come up with an improved init.d script, or a systemd solution, then I'm more than happy to replace what I knocked up!
