    Re: no data upload via FTPS to web site

    I'm running out of ideas I can ask you to try (other than don't use tsoHost :lol: )

    The only other thing I can think of is that they only encrypt the control channel and leave data transfers in plain text. But users cannot currently alter that in Cumulus, it encrypts everything.

    Re: Bump on the head

    Stop cumulus, restore the data files from the last daily backup folder before the accident, and start Cumulus again. It should catch up the missing data from your logger.

    Re: no data upload via FTPS to web site

    And did you try...? With Cumulus stopped, edit Cumulus.ini, in the "FTP site" section, add the line... DisableEPSV=1 I have another person with TsoHosting and for them it appears that although the server is reporting that it supports EPSV mode, it doesn't, it only seems to work in the older PASV mode.

    Re: no data upload via FTPS to web site

    If that does not work, some more tests you could do for please.. Does FileZilla work with FTPS in... 1. Implicit mode? 2. Explicit mode? and 3. Data transfers encrypted? 4. Data transfers un-encrypted? (but I'm not sure if you can control 3 & 4 in FileZilla?) Implicit mode is an older depreciated me...

    Re: no data upload via FTPS to web site

    Hi Paul,

    One more thing to try - disabling EPSV (extended passive) mode....

    With Cumulus stopped, edit Cumulus.ini, in the "FTP site" section, add the line...
    DisableEPSV=1

    BTW, to start debug logging from Cumulus startup, you have to add the following line in the "Station" section...
    Logging=1

    That's fine - and normal.
    When downloading data from the logger the Ctrl-C message will come before the Normal running. They come from different parts of the program.

    It should, but you should get the Ctrl-C message as well?

    Re: no data upload via FTPS to web site

    However, in the MXdiags file, I see the following: 2020-01-15 22:06:53.498 Attempting realtime SFTP connect to host www.paulkiener.com on port 21 2020-01-15 22:06:55.093 Realtime FTP connected ...which makes it appear that I have connected via SFTP. I have "1 - Use SSL/TLS for FTP (FTPS)" selected ...

    Re: Just checking .......

    "Normal running" is when it starts running fully, when that occurs depends on if it has to perform a logger download.

    From the dashboard - I wouldn't unless you want to have to edit every update release.
    From the web page, just remove the gauge HTML elements from the template page and upload it again.

    Your first post says the host uses FTPS, but you have Cumulus configured to use SFTP?

    Re: no data upload via FTPS to web site

    Please switch on debug logging and ftp logging. Let Cumulus run for at least one update period, then zip up your MXdiags folder and attach that along with the ftp log file,

    Re: Update from Cumulus 1 issues

    The problem with that is some people (me included) run CumulusMX on machines that do not have a graphical interface and browser, or even a screen/keyboard!

    However, it may be a interesting option to have in the ini file, but the default would be have to be NOT to launch the browser.

    Could I politely suggest that a little message to the effect "Logging functionality disabled due to inadequate data" be added to MXDiags when this happens to help people in the future?
    I'll take a look :)
