Re: Davis anemometer transmitter problems

Just for info my Anemometer transmitter is still going strong since its purchase in April 2009 from ProData. Located on a ESE wall so it gets a decent amount of sunshine. I replaced the Duracell battery in January. Can’t remember how many times over the years so not that many I guess.

Re: New Record? Post here.

A second all-time record broken today for 2020 which is rare when you've been running a weather station for nearly 11 years! :o

20 days of rain! Last dry day was 6 February. Shocking.

Re: cumulus to new computer and domain

I would have thought the IP address and password would be different if you are uploading to a different host. It’s not clear in your original post if you have moved to a new hosting company. If so they should have provided you with those important details. So apart from moving Cumulus from a W7 comp...

Scare as 11 year-old netbook becomes noisy

This morning my 11 year-old Samsung NC10 started making whirring noises. Oh god, is this its demise? A friend suggested I contact a laptop repair shop in Stockport. I did and they thought it was probably the fan. I took it in and they fixed it there and then but not before there was another scare wh...

Re: New Record? Post here.

Thanks to Storm Ciara I had my highest ‘wind run’ figure yesterday in 10 years of running Cumulus, 197.3 miles. Also had the highest ever pressure reading last month, 1049 hPa on the 19th Jan. Crikey! How different our two locations are. My highest is 432.3 back on 31/3/2015. I'd be interested to k...

Re: New Record? Post here.

@sfws, you’ve done well to capture such a high gust when the FO only grabs wind every 20 secs or so. It was the strongest gust since 2015 for me. The rain was almost incidental today as was the temp of 12°C at 11:00 before the squall line arrived. No rainfall rate records broken here. @Mapantz, than...

Re: New Record? Post here.

Logjam, it was quite an event. I’m just relieved the anemometer stayed intact. I lost one in 2013 with a gust of only 56mph. Temp dropped here from 12 to 8 in 20 mins.

Re: New Record? Post here.

This is the Met Office rainfall radar at 11:25 this morning as the squall line passed through my area. Looks like we copped for the worst of it.

Re: New Record? Post here.

A squall line associated with Storm Ciara passed through Cheadle Hulme just under an hour ago. A few houses have lost ridge tiles and trampolines are all over the place. My station recorded a new all-time gust of 65mph beating the previous record of 56mph back in 2014. A memorable event! StormCiara....

Re: New Record? Post here.

Record high pressure for this station since it started in April 2009. 1045.9hPa and still rising. Wow! The only record that doesn't cause any damage or discomfort. :D

How to boost your site visitors

A few days ago I had a leaflet through the door inviting me to join a local neighbourhood website where people could exchange tips about security, general advice and other useful local topics. I decided to join. Whilst most chatter is about hiring cleaners, getting a gardener etc I thought I would a...

Re: MISSING 2 WEEKS OF DATA - MANUAL EDIT?

Hi Peter, Editing dayfile.txt (without Cumulus running) is probably your safest bet. Open it with Notepad++ (free) and use the info provided here on the field names to enter suitable data. Laborious but not too difficult. https://cumuluswiki.wxforum.net/a/Dayfile.txt#List_of_fields_in_the_file Depen...
