Moving Cumulus MX 4 to a 'new' computer
A while back I found myself in the position of looking at a reformat and reinstall to upgrade my computer to Windows 11. I waited until I had a clear slot to do it all, and thought all I had to do to move my Cumulus installation was to take a copy of the directory/folder to a USB stick, and then whe...

Missing file when upgrading to 4043
Hello, I encountered an error where Cumulus crashed after upgrading to the latest version. I had done what I always do, namely unzip the new version, copy over my Cumulus.ini, strings.ini, data and reports folders. On checking the error logs it couldn't find UniqueId.txt I copied UniqueId.txt from m...

Re: Corrupted data file found when upgrading
I haven't tried that, but the original file looks just the same when opened in Notepad. I'm guessing that the corruption happened when I first moved to MX, but I don't know.
No worries, it's not a show stopper.

Corrupted data file found when upgrading
Hello! I have finally got round to upgrading to v4, and it all went well apart from a small error in migrating the data. The output told me there was a problem with Sep20log.txt, and to fix it and run the conversion again. When I tried to open the file in notepad I just got gobbledygook so I guess t...

Re: Rainfall total carried forward into new year
OK, I have upgraded to the new version (3100), but haven't started it up yet. The reason is that I was following the instructions in the wiki about updating to a new version. I have not made any customisations, so renamed my current Cumulus folder, (now called Cumulus_old) and unzipped the new versi...

Re: Rainfall total carried forward into new year
OK, so if I upgrade will it fix itself, or do I still have to change things? Thanks.

Re: Rainfall total carried forward into new year
Here you go. There were two for the same day, so I have uploaded them both. This has made me wonder. I have two network cards in this computer, and I may have run Cumulus when the wrong card was active. Could that have contributed to the confusion?

Rainfall total carried forward into new year
Hello, Towards the end of last year I made the move from v1 to MX, and I've been getting along fine. I didn't have Cumulus MX running over the New Year, and when I did start it up it 'brought forward' the yearly total for rainfall into 2021. I've attached a screenshot to show what I mean. I'm pretty...

Re: Rain counter at the start of a new month
t tries to cope with most combinations of starting and stopping, and switching between logger data and live data, but closing down just before midnight is one thing that unfortunately causes problems because of the way the end of day code works, which is why the readme.txt warns against it. Ah, con...

Rain counter at the start of a new month
I've been using Cumulus for just under a month now, and so far it's been really good. OK, I've had the odd glitch, but nothing that caused major hassle, and I've usually found an explanation on the forums/FAQ/Wiki that has sorted things out. There is one thing that I've not been able to find an answ...
