"Stormy, much precipitation"

hi Cumulus has been displaying "Stormy, much precipitation" a lot recently, over the last two / three weeks. This may be because it's been stormy with much precipitation; as British regulars here will know we've had a series of explosive cyclogeneses and other Atlantic low pressure frontal...

Re: Extending wind cable

Thanks Alan, that was very useful information. So effectively, the anenometer short circuits the two inner contacts every time it goes round 180º. Got it. It worked through the extension wire before I got the aerial installer to put it up there. I can only assume that there was some intermittent con...

Re: Extending wind cable

Bumping an ancient thread I know. But it's directly relevant. I extended the cable for the wind sensors on my WH1081 (actually Maplin N96GY). I did so with this 15m Twisted Pair fully wired RJ11 cable and this RJ11 Coupler. I wrapped the whole thing up extensively with self-amalgamaging tape and sea...

WXSIM Self-learning routine now Cumulus compatible

Tom Ehrensperger (a true gentleman, knowledgeable and intelligent by-the-by) has made a beta version of the WRET.EXE component of WXSIM, which now implements the self-learning routines for forecast improvement for Cumulus, which previously was only available to users of other weather software. The s...

Re: Biscuit tin solar shield

Starting to look like folk art... put a "modern sculpture for sale" sign on it - perhaps a passing tourist will buy it for enough money that you can purchase a Stevenson screen, LOL :-) It's certainly elicited a discussion in my care home about what it is :-) I've ordered the requisite pl...

Re: Biscuit tin solar shield

Mark 2 was this, the extended metal flap (part of an old computer) required as it approached summer the sun was coming in at a new angle. http://i.imgur.com/J3fzc3v.jpg http://i.imgur.com/eyDfzBA.jpg That worked, but a couple of months on, the sun is coming in the morning from the North East. I'm ge...

Re: picture.jpg replacement

My assumption has been that anyone who isn't using the 'standard' Cumulus setup would keep their 'static' files elsewhere, because there's no reason to keep them in the Cumulus folder. The webfiles folder is intended to be a copy of the set of static files for the standard setup. I never fit assump...

Re: picture.jpg replacement

there's no reason to update any files in the webfiles folder (and its subfolders), they are 'static' files used for setting up a standard web site. I think I've been going about things the wrong way. I've been using the webfiles directory as the local copy of my website. I shall keep that elsewhere...

Re: Biscuit tin solar shield

well the solar shield works well with one problem: as the sun's angle in the sky changes over the year, it's amazing what angles it manages. I had to extend the shield along one side to stop the midday sun now we're approaching the solstice. But now the morning sun 6-9am catches it. I can't realisti...

Re: PHP Web 'viewer' for Cumulus NOAA Style reports

$rpt = preg_replace('/State: West Yorkshire/'i, 'County: West Yorkshire Country: UK', $rpt, 1); Thanks! I hardly dare say it, as I know absolutey zilch about Javascript etc., but to get it to work actually I had to have the i before the ': $rpt = preg_replace('/State: West Yorkshire/i', 'County: We...

Yeah, I had it backed up. Updating Cumulus only changed /images/picture.jpg in webfiles locally anyway, not on site.

picture.jpg replacement

Very minor bug...

On updating to the Beta I specified for it to not overwrite my eisting website files. Despite this, images\picture.jpg was overwriten.

Cheers

Re: PHP Web 'viewer' for Cumulus NOAA Style reports

Beteljuice Thank you for your script. It's great. There's something wrong with the anglicised code though. I've tried multiple times, copying it precisely, and I always end up with the following error. Warning: Division by zero in /home/wetherby/public_html/noaa-inc.php on line 433 Warning: preg_rep...
