I don't think there is anything in the Wiki about doing this specifically. But if you install WinSCP or Filezilla on your windows machine, you should be able to connect it up to your raspberry pi and copy the samplestrings.ini file to your local windows. Great and thanks for the reply, is there a wiki on how to do this? I'm not very experienced with the Raspberry Pi, this is my first one and I took the easy route and installed CMX using the pre-built image,

I use Twitter to update the info from my station every 30 mins with the wind speed, temp etc and I would like to show the max wind gust for the day so would the txt for this <#wgust> or <#wmax> or something totally different? any help would be appreciated.

I will have a look at the cable being used at the mo once the snow clears and I can use my ladder. The new cable from ebay will be run through trunking so it should be well protected from the elements.

Ok chaps websites up and running but i want to change the position of the station. Iv just downloaded the weather station app for my phone and its asking for my website url which contains the xml file. The problem is iv looked on the file manager on my host and cant find anything thats a xml. Could someone please tell me where it is.
