Re: Serial port problem
And another place to look is the Com port settings of the device that Davis communicates through.
In device manager for the COM port, my settings are:
Bites per second: 19200 (this is set in the Davis console)
data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Flow control: None
This appears to work OK for me

For the Wiki (Windows Task Scheduler)
Hi Hans, Wrote a part for the wiki article for the Cutils page https://www.cumuluswiki.org/a/CumulusUtils Specifically the Scheduled task Hope that it is sufficient for your needs? Not sure of the best default switch or rather command to use in the bathc file, as I don't use it in it's native manner...

Re: v3.28.1 bulid 3278
Hmm interesting. After having another go at applying the latest update all appears to have gone smoothly this time around. That said, I did give the Winblows (oh, did I say that I meant Windows) a bit of TLC, sfc found a few things and fixed them it told me. All appears well. Again, thanks to the ge...

Re: Charts Compiler
Ah yes sir, that was it. Added the switch UserAskedData to the regular 10 minute scheduled task for cumulusutils (this just calls the batch file to run it with switches) Removed the time stamp from cumulusutils.ini file for [General] LastUploadTime= and also [Compiler] DoneToday= Ran that task as ab...

Re: Charts Compiler
I was running it manually to see if I get the file. C:\CumulusMX\utils\bin\cumulusutils.exe UserAskedData Is it set to only run at a certain time? Or is it a background thing that runs and then when I run utils with switch it uploads it? Or something else? I should have look at the logs, anything in...

Re: v3.28.1 bulid 3278
Ah so I am not the only one. I got the same however I use PHP upload process. Found that it didn't play happy with uploading after upgrading to latest version. Logs complained a lot. I will have to see if I can set the logging level higher to see if we can learn anything more about it. Ran hash chec...

Re: Charts Compiler
Ah good to see that it may be useful for others in some way Thanks Hans and very much understood in terms of the priority level. No stress if to hard (to long to do), was more if there was things to ask for that would be it. I need to look into what I am missing as to why I am not getting created th...

Re: Charts Compiler
If you think it useful let me know what needs to be changed in the example CutilsCharts.def (on the other hand it made you study) made changes in the file example to get it to run out of box. Removed the separate output file entries to have it all output to the one file for ease of testing. But goo...

Re: Anemometer Maintenance
Hi Mapantz, I found an article some time back for maintenance tasks on the wind direction and anemometer. Successfully replaced my bearing for direction a few years back as per the article https://www.chatteris.biz/blog/davis-6410-anemometer-reed-bearing-replacement-2000-2013-version/ An excellent r...

Re: Cumulus utils post 6.8.3 failing on Windows computer
Hi Hans, Thanks for the reply. I figured it out thanks to your insightful prodding :D Your comment of "at the command level that Windows can't find certain libraries" got me thinking. I had always run from the cumulusMX directory C:\CumulusMX\cumulusutils.exe, since it didn't seem to run o...
