Since upgrading to v1.9.4 build 1085, I keep getting this error message. I normally know something is amiss, as I look at my site (hosted on my own apache2 server) at weather.rjstech.co.uk and I can see it is no longer updating every 30 minutes. I had no problems under V1.9.3, but felt it appropriat...

WeatherBlues V1 + XP Pro SP3 + Crashing
I had a go at installing this on my XP Pro SP3 netbook. I have been running cumulus for a couple of years now, and really liked the look of this template. I originally started with the V2 template, but VirginMedia site threw up loads of errors when I tried to view the site - is there an issue with t...

Re: N96GY Wind Speed
Thanks Peter, I followed the link you posted and have ordered that bearing. I did pop the sensor apart previously in order to apply a little light oil, so I will prise it apart again and fit that bearing. Out of curiosity, I do have a pergola at the bottom of the garden, with some quite sturdy uprig...

Re: N96GY Wind Speed
Thank you both for taking the time to reply, and it has given me some food for thought. I thought I had eliminated everything bar a fault with the weather station, but it has got me thinking that localised conditions may very well have been different to those on the forecast, plus of course the actu...

N96GY Wind Speed
In the aftermath of our storm across the south, I looked at my weather site to see what sort of wind speeds were recorded. However, it is recorded that peak wind speed was 33.6mph during the night, and obviously I expected to see higher than this. I was looking at the specs for the N96GY, and wind s...

N96GY Rain Sensor Repair?
Just dawned on me that the rain detection has not been working for a few days now. I ordered a replacement one from Maplins for £4.99 and it's all fitted and working now. Just curious - is it worth having a look inside the old one to try and ascertain and rectifiy whatever fault it has? I assume the...

Re: N96GY Replacement (Maplin)
Maybe a dodgy batch! Yes, it has been rather windy of late, but not that bad. I took the top off the sensors and the little bearings are indeed feeling "dry". I didn't have any sewing machine oil, but I did have a little bottle of oil to lubircate my hair clippers. Brought the sensors insi...

Re: N96GY Replacement (Maplin)
Spoke too soon!
Hi and thanks for the Reply Rob.
Got up this morning, and the little bearing has indeed seized. Again.
I've taken off the top and done as you suggest. Isn't WD40 a little "light" though?
Anyway, I'll give it a go.
Regards,
Robert.

N96GY Replacement (Maplin)
Hi. Just a bit of a heads up really, regarding an N96GY I purchased from Maplin Electronics in November '12. Unfortunately the wind speed and direction indicators became stiff/seized within 3 weeks of purchase. Maplins did not have these as individual componenents, so paid for my faulty weather stat...
