Re: Fire weather calculations info?

And btw, @BCJkiwi, Since we are talking and you are a long-time member of the forum I bring in the following. After restarting my PWS and re-entering this forum,I noticed a lot of new things: New releases (MX), new technology (Raspberry) etc... and when I had missed something somebody said : 'you mu...

Re: Fire weather calculations info?

Hi BCJkiwi, Thanks for the links and info. I downloaded, read and installed. FWIcalc is setup and running well within a short time. I am just as happy with it as I was seven years ago. I implemented FWIcalc seven years ago and had a good discussion - with you as well - about the values and theory. A...

Re: Fire weather calculations info?

Hi,

Thanks a lot!!

Interesting that I was not able to find that page. Neither from the Arthur's Pass menu/homepage, nor from Google.
But still, do you know of any publication or possibility to actually get info on the theoretical background of that program? Did Graeme publish any of this?

Best,

Fire weather calculations info?

Years ago I used to calculate the Fire Weather Index with FWIcalc by Greame Kates (New Zealand) but apparently he dropped the software in 2014. I don't know of any real alternative. Does anybody have info on the methodology and the calculations involved? I am thinking of writing my own one way or an...

Re: CumulusMX - RaspberyPi - Start|Stop|Restart Script V2.5.5.2

Hi, I just updated the start/stop script to 2.5.5.2 version. All is OK, but I took the opportunity to run the -c option and I noticed the FTP check went wrong. As CumulusMX is running fine I checked the script and found a small error: in the lines where you parse the cumulus.ini at the FTP section, ...

Re: Install compliments, graphs and system status

Good, I have it all up and running, website has it's main items configured, will be enlarged over time I guess. Some minor tuning left to do. The easy part was setting up the hardware, the raspberry and cumulus which was done in a bit less than 2 hrs. The harder part was the website especially the g...

Re: Blank after configuring

Could not get it working.
Sticking with Saratoga templates, which gives me some feeling of having more control.

Re: MeteoAdvisory

Aha, indeed. That is solved than.
This single area requirement was not clear to me.
At least we can mark this one as solved. This leaves only the time-outs.

I'll be back with the temis.nl comment.

Thnx, Hans

Re: MeteoAdvisory

As far as I understand the code, the content in the cache is used if it has not expired. This means, that if there is content in the cache (fetched by e.g. check-fetch-times) it should be used if used within expiry time. That would mean, I would have to see the warning on the page if the cache cont...

Re: MeteoAdvisory

OK. I did set the timeout to 30 seconds (why try 9 first,if it works timeout is not important). You can try for yourself. Results: UV-fetch does not work, MeteoAlarm-fetch does work. Let's be clear: the UV forecast sometimes does work, I have seen it myself work intermittently. Still, when the meteo...

Re: MeteoAdvisory

I partly agree: you did not address the issue that the info in the cache (with check-fetch-times) is not handled correc!tly when used within the expiry time after the run of check-fetch-times. I will inform the provider of your remarks concerning the routing. I must say that I have been with this pr...

Re: MeteoAdvisory

Hi, I asked the provider and he has tested it with a small file containing the following: <?php echo shell_exec("curl https://meteoalarm.eu"); ?> You can execute it from my server https://www.meteo-wagenborgen.nl/test_webreus.php So I went back to the original files to make sure I made no error. Now...

Re: MeteoAdvisory

Hi, For one reason or another I can't get the advisory script to work either. I did download the most recent versions (Version 2.10 - 22-Jul-2018 of the 'get-meteoalarm-warning-inc'-script). The debug output is below. After making changes I emtpy my FF-cache and try again, so far unsuccessful and no...

Re: Install compliments, graphs and system status

OK. Thnx.

I have six years of reading to catch up, that's a lot more than I thought. Getting the site running is taking a lot of time as well so I can use this info. But maybe a README FIRST would have some value. Thnx, I'll read ;)
