Re: Instructions: Installing CumulusMX on Raspberry Pi

As presently amended, it says that Debian Buster, Mono v6.0.0.334 and Locale en_GB seem to be working, but there are possibly/probably continuing problems for those using other Locales. I think we agree that that is correct? No, I do not see that as correct. I think possibly/probably is very much u...

Re: Fire Weather, a new approach

I am not sure about what you are saying, but even if I measure RH and temperature, I still do not know my saturation pressure of water at that temperature so I have to calculate that. Atmospheric pressure is not in that equation. The relation - approximation of the P(sat) of water - is not described...

Re: Fire Weather, a new approach

Ehmm.. OK, how would you calculate the saturated water vapour pressure from the station pressure (that is: the atmospheric pressure at station level)?

Re: Cumulusutils

Version 0.8.7 is now on-line.
Sorry for the rapid release sequence, too much disturbance to create releases.
Will not do it like this again.

@Harm: I will check and come back on this.

Re: Fire Weather, a new approach

A blog dedicated to the theory behind pwsFWI.
More or less a specialist blog on Altitude correction on the August-Roche-Magnus equation. For the meteorologists on the forum.

Re: Fire Weather, a new approach

Hi, I can test, or I can borrow my dayfile.txt Hi, you offered to test my Fire Weather Index. If you are still interested, a distribution is now available here . I understand your meteorological attention is now elsewhere because of the torrential rains in your region, but still I would appreciate ...

Re: Fire Weather, a new approach

Having seen the first results from pwsFWI and the stories of what is physically going on, I think we are on the good track. One major change as per version 0.8.5 is the analysis mode for pwsFWI. If in cumulusutils.ini the value of Analysis is set to a number (> 30) you will find that number of days ...

Re: Cumulusutils

Version 0.8.5 is now online. Watch out for: Dry periode added to the pwsFWI table Exception handling now should be generic. IF(!) an exception occurs, the exceptions should always be handled generously and the application should end gracefully with enough info in the log file. The exception message ...

Re: Cumulusutils

Downloaded & installed. [...] So you need not be concerned with IRIX, HP-UX, AIX, etc. etc. :-) Guess you're right. All working good to date here on both Win10 test install & Win8 live install. Have got my Pi up & running again so will start playing there soon as well. It's still only got MX3043 so...

apt-get install lshw
OK, works absolutely fabulously, could demand that as a precondition. But what about the Sun, HP etc... do they use this command?
Not that Cumulus will often be run on a Sun but you never know?
