Re: First startup after upgrading to b3141 - error message noticed

The short answer - yes the new database still has all the issues with DST that the original code had. Thank you for confirming. Background... Before this release MX keep recent data (used for the recent graphs etc) was kept in memory structures. So if you restarted the graphs reverted to using what...

Re: First startup after upgrading to b3141 - error message noticed

If it was my design, then internally I would use a fixed time zone with no DST and convert on-the-fly when making the data available externally. That has been suggested many times in this support forum over the years. Of course, in response, Steve Loft's Cumulus 2 was coded to do just that, using U...

Re: First startup after upgrading to b3141 - error message noticed

A technical question related to your persistent database mentioned in your Updates.txt, that gave the message that Freddie spotted: A SQLite3 database uses the row number as the primary key in any database table, When the "clocks go back", there will be an hour of duplicated minutes, will MX (from 3...

Re: V 3.12.0 Interface - Moon image path and NOAA files path

Quite probably, there is some logic that changes the default paths when the copy option is enabled. Actually, it seemed an old default was reset, not a new default relevant to "Copy". People complained that the defaults were not set appropriately to the selected options above, now doing that is a p...

Re: RESOLVED BY REBOOT: Issue when attempted running as service

Doing a bit of Googling, and see that your error message doesn't refer to your HID device - it is to do with a user (hence UID/GID). Many thanks, Freddie, for your persistence on this while I was taking advantage of the gap in rain showers to dig up more unwanted tree saplings in the middle of shru...

Re: V 3.12.0 Interface - Moon image path and NOAA files path

On my first venture into 3.12.0 new settings I set up the "copy path" in the moon section. I saved the page and saw my moon image was copied across. Later, I was exploring other settings on this page, and as I went to "Save settings", noticed that my "copy moon path" apparently got reset (from how I...

Re: Issue when attempted running as service

Freddie, this might be a significant clue, there was something in the forum recently about how MX connects to USB HID by doing a search, maybe that code works differently within a service? This is quite telling: You have picked up what I meant by significant clue! Only MX software can access my wea...

Re: V 3.12.0 Interface - Moon image path and NOAA files path

I leave it to Mark to answer specific question, but make an observation:

Remember, prior to 3.12.0, absolute paths were needed for copy in extra web files.

This might be a result of your user swapping from FTP to Copy as detailed in your other post today.

Re: Issue when attempted running as service

I am running my Fine Offset in CumulusMX as a service and I upgraded with no problems. Windows 10 Version 20H2. Everything running AOK. Good for you, and that is also useful to narrow down what might be problem. However, my post was about running MX as a service on a Raspberry Pi. The coding in MX ...

Issue when attempted running as service

Thank you, that reassures me that MX is okay, now I know I have done something wrong. On further investigation, 3.12.0 starts okay in interactive mode, but gives that issue when I start MX as a service. I was running as a service before, for weeks without any issues, somehow in installing 3.12.0 my ...

Re: New Webtags

Is there a list of the New webtags that Cumulus uses? as i have noticed that all the new one seem to start cmx-***** and i'm trying to add some custom tags to the website. Yes, there is a list. To see those "cmx-", you should go direct to https://cumuluswiki.org/a/WebsitedataT.json . (There is a li...

Re: Rain conversion from inches to mm

Do you know if the month*.ini and year*.ini files will get regenerated by the software, maybe at midnight? NO! Or is there a process I can run to regenerate them NO! (Although Mark has mentioned plans for a "CreateRecords" utility) I need to correct those manually? For future reference, the fields ...
