Re: Simpler CMX use on Raspberry Pi

This topic in in a sub-forum for suggestions about improving MX. Prodata suggests running MX on a Raspberry Pi can't be recommended unless MX is changed, it appears to be based on a number of assumptions and lacking in supporting evidence. This reply presents evidence that the Raspberry Pi is easy t...

Re: Server side graphics

The posts in this topic are a confusing mixture of - those suggesting MX is badly designed and hard to use - those confusing basic features of MX and optional extras that can be added - those forgetting this topic is about a suggestion for an extra feature to be added to MX. This post will try to ma...

Not sure if that is right/wrong?
Yes, your Multiplier: Rainfall = 1.000 is right (multiplying what is read by 1, to get what is processed, does not change it)

Another guess: You have wrong model type set for your rain gauge?

Re: NOAA reports

Currently running on windows 10. I checked and altered NOAA format as suggested I enabled debugging through the interface. I have run the regenerate for Jan - Aug and saw the pop up saying it has done it but only data in last few days of June report, All July and start of August. Numbers refers to ...

Re: FineOffset (WH1028) - Daily Graphs not showing and other quirks

the previous MX releases were displaying it. I guess new code had more stricter formatting rules. That is interesting. Several users recently have had problems with dates, but before that the problem was not being reported if it did happen. Mark will no doubt comment in a while, but I am guessing t...

Re: Recovering MX properly from locale issues

Should I edit and replace all data txt files? And what about monthly and yearly ini-files? I can't answer this and most of your other questions, but And is this even possible, or are the locale settings coming from mono package and hardcoded inside it? you can over-ride the mono locale - see https:...

Re: FineOffset (WH1028) - Daily Graphs not showing and other quirks

Okay, sounds like there are lots of hyphens to change to slashes. You need to be careful you don't change any minus signs in front of numbers, so you can't edit in a text editor with replace all (or global replace) functionality. I suggest you use a spreadsheet package like the Calc feature in Libre...

Re: NOAA reports

have you done the step to change the NOAA monthly filename templates? Further advice on NOAA file naming at https://cumuluswiki.org/a/Webtags#The_format_used_for_naming_reports if your name does not match Mark's example. By the way, have you tried to regenerate the yearly report? That should not ha...

Re: NOAA reports

I looked at several of those logs, and cannot find any reference to NOAA. Tell us when you tried to regenerate your NOAA report? It might be because none of those logs cover 4 July when you made your first post and the date when I thought it would have been that you tried to regenerate the reports. ...

Re: FineOffset (WH1028) - Daily Graphs not showing and other quirks

Any idea how to edit the file to correct it? Try reading https://cumuluswiki.org/a/Dayfile.txt#Safely_editing_the_daily_summary_log that will tell you the rules, and guide you on what might be wrong. Dropbox does not provide me with line numbers. I have scanned some of the file, but the error does ...

Re: Date Format

the last rainfall date - it reads "Last rainfall 2020-08-04 11:08" Have a look at web tags in the Wiki for details on how to change the formatting. Well done for spotting that the standard web pages (as shown in your image) use an old tag that is fixed format. Now you have replaced <#LastRainTipISO...

Re: Update Script?

Looking at your script, and reading how you are still trying to get it right, I still believe my MX updating approach using http://www.codesector.com/teracopy is easier, quicker, simpler, and safer. But, your approach might be more fun for you, and suit you. My tool replaces just the new files and i...

Please can I request that we have additional logging for ... e.g. UV, Sun Hours, Solar, Lightning so that we can have monthly, annual and all-time figures as we do for many of the others. Just looking at this 4 month old request, I note * Lightning is somewhat different to other 3 examples * For th...

Re: Initial Location Entry

More than two months on, reading this topic, it does seem strange to me that if you know your lat and long in decimal terms you have to convert it to degrees, minutes and seconds, just for Cumulus to convert it back to decimals internally. I suspect everyone setting up Cumulus (or if they have a wea...
