Re: Stevenson screen self build

I tried to base my design as much as possible on an actual stevenson screen which does have ventilation below. Certainly had I not had a screen the the WMR200 without would have recorded silly record temperatures. Lancashire does not have extremes. So I'm happy with what I've got. After a year the g...

Re: Stevenson screen self build

This was my effort Geoff http://www.flickr.com/photos/78565286@N02/ It has been in use about a year now and because I already had the wood it cost very little, and with my limited woodworking skills I still managed. Importantly, I have been very satisfied with my temperatures, with no silly records....

Re: Weather Station Shield

Hi Raul I'm not sure of the physical position of your shield, but with you mentioning a terrace I get the impression it is above a paved area and close to a wall. Both will give off convective heat and therefore increase your readings. I'm not a million miles away and my high today was 13c at 14.06....

Re: Request to test UK Met Office Weather Widget

I've noticed in the last few days that my Met Office weather widget is not working. Has anyone else experienced any problems? I also noticed that other peoples widget is acting the same. Maybe it is local to my PC?

Re: new Cumulus semi live web console

It is very good Theo...I think you will find many are interested. When I chat to my brother in Canada on Yahoo, he always asks for that current view. So I simply use the print screen function/paste to show my current stats. The point is he and others I chat to like that screen so would be an excelle...

Re: Adverts on my website!

Yes it was only my opinion William. I think the teacher is doing the majority of the work at Reigate, but yes I enjoy looking in there for my own education on meteorological matters. Maybe, you should be suggesting to the Senior Geography teacher at your school that they need a school weather statio...

Re: Adverts on my website!

Hi William In my opinion it is a terrible idea. You won't get rich selling your website off for some two-bit ad. Advertising is the dreaded scourge of life today - it is unwanted and definitely deters further exploration of websites once the spam (advertising) has been encountered. I'm surprised tha...

Re: A New WMR200A User.

I can't really complain about my WMR200 that I bought last April. Absolutely no problem. The only battery change so far was on the rain gauge. The radiation shield is not really adequate to protect the sensors from sunlight and the consequent high temperature data so I housed that that inside my hom...

Looks like we're getting that (or whatever's left of it) when you guys are done with it.
You are welcome to it Peter. I was going to say you could have our pollutants too, but there is no proper industry here anymore! So you can have our fresh air.

Re: It looks like the end of the cold spell for us

It's grim up north Kevin! By this time tomorrow it will all have gone!
It certainly is - not the place for softies!

Yes, I'm like you. Snow is nice at first, but I quickly get fed up with it.

At about 7pm we were having sleet and rain, but since then the snow has been steady.

Hi Ray

Across in Wigan it has been snowing all evening - 5 inches so far, which is a lot for us!
