Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024

(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)

Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024

Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

Re: Record glitch

Hi, Glitchs elimination is an important aspect of Cumulus fonction as glitchs do accure on a continious basic due to the weak USB communication protocole between the station and the computer. Glitchs look obvious to us when we look at a graph, but one needs a numerical scheme to eliminate them autom...

National Geographic 265NC / Cumulus 1.7.17 / Weather Underground / Weather Exchange It is interesting to note that when you have an active Weather Underground station like I have thanks to Cumulus: http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IQUEBECJ3&day=3&year=2008&...

National Geographic 265NC / Cumulus 1.7.17 / Personal Weather Stations Cumulus is now offering to send data to the Personal Weather Stations website, so I also created a station there and I am happy to report that it is working quite fine: http://www.pwsweather.com/obs/GENISIM.html Marc :D PWS2.gif

Re: Nat. Geo. 265NC / Cumulus 1.7.16 / Weather Underground

Bad rain data, the saga continue. By-passing EasyWeather using Cumulus 1.7.16 is very convenient but it is not solving the bad rain data issue. It turned out that the bad data is coming from the station itself so it is up to the software receiving the data to filter out that bad data. Cumulus 1.7.16...

Re: Cumulus 1.7.16 / Weather Underground

I am please to report that starting today September 1st, I am successfully using Cumulus 1.7.16 to directly interface my National Geographic 265NC weather station hence eliminating the need to run EasyWeather.

Congratulations Steve.

Re: EasyWeather 1.0 / Cumulus 1.7.14 / Weather Underground

Hi, Now with Cumulus 1.7.15 it is supposed to be possible to bypass EasyWeather altogether, initially it seams to work see first attached picture, but soon after, you start to get garbage data. So Cumulus 1.7.15 is not the solution at least not for me who is using a National Geographic 265NC weather...

Re: Rain Not Correct (EasyWeather/Cumulus)

Hi, There is indeed something wrong in the communication protocol between the station and EasyWeather. This is why I am killing and restarting EasyWeather every 10 minutes (as the communication often stop completely) and erasing easyweather.dat file every day (as sometime the communication continue ...

Re: Another rainfall question....

Hi, This is a quite interesting discussion. I can tell you that it is not all EasyWeather versions that are taking a very long time to recompute the rain data. The version 1 that I am currently using http://www.lacrossetechnology.co.nz/images/fbfiles/files/Setup_WS1081.zip and the version 2 that is ...

Re: EasyWeather 1.0 / Cumulus 1.7.14 / Weather Underground

Hi, I only been playing with my weather station since August 1st so I am still quite fresh, but I did a lot of searching on the Internet since I bought my National Geographic 265NC station. If I have my IQUEBECJ3 Weather Underground station and my private weather station web pages on the Internet, i...

Re: EasyWeather 2.0 V4.16 / Cumulus 1.7.13 / Weather Underground

Hi, If you check my weather data both on my Weather Underground station at: http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IQUEBECJ3&day=17&year=2008&month=8 or on my private web site at: http://www.genisim.com/weather/index.htm, you will see that since I shifted to usi...

Re: EasyWeather 2.0 V4.16 / Cumulus 1.7.13 / Weather Underground

Finally increasing the reset rate to every 30 minutes is not fixing the bad rainfall data problem. So I shifted to EasyWeather 1.0 a little while ago. We will see if that if fixing the problem.

Re: EasyWeather 2.0 V4.16 / Cumulus 1.7.13 / Weather Underground

I have found myself a place where version 1 of EasyWeather can be donwloded it is: http://www.lacrossetechnology.co.nz/images/fbfiles/files/Setup_WS1081.zip To first glance it looks identical to version 2. I will try to use it soon instead of version 2 to see first if it is compatible with my Nation...

Re: EasyWeather 2.0 V4.16 / Cumulus 1.7.13 / Weather Underground

My solution to EasyWeather instabilities both in term of failing communication with the weather station and the wrong calculation of rainfall is to reset it every hour. To do so I wrote the following .BAT file pskill easyweather cd C:\Program Files\EasyWeather del easyweather.dat start /realtime Eas...

Re: EasyWeather 2.0 V4.16 / Cumulus 1.7.13 / Weather Underground

About the easyweather.dat format change, the size of the file has change: the 265NC version is much bigger for the same number of reconds. Yet, I was wrong to assume that the format has changed as on close inspection it look the same! Since I have installed the V4.16 version, the communication betwe...
