Version 2.5?

Dear Mark,

I and I am sure many other users agree that they much enjoy all the hard work for the SS Gauges.
When do you think you be able to release the 2.5(beta) for test? Would be happy to join... ;
In particular the new wind direction gauge looks great.

Re: RG-11 input debounce

Thanks Alan, I have tried a different approach first: I have added a 10uf capacitor from DSR pin to ground pin on the com port. This solved my problem and now it looks stable.

Re: RG-11 input debounce

Thanks Alan,

How would such a wiring look if you translate it to the RS232 pins and RG-11 pins. We also have 12v available from the power supply in the RG-11. Would this be suitable to be used?
Sorry for many questions.

Re: RG-11 input debounce

To Steve: I understand. I am anyway very glad for you making CUMULUS in your free time and very much like it. To Alan: I am using the R C values from the discussion about a year back. The cable is CAT6 about 25m. I have tried two configurations: 1.) PC serial port: shows as a result mainly off off o...

RG-11 input debounce

Hi, moved house and installed my RG-11 again with new cable length. Capacitor/Resistor trick worked last time but now fails. Would it be possible to implement a easy software debounce in Cumulus? Something like this (sample switch debounce): #define CHECK_MSEC 5 // Read hardware every 5 msec #define...

How to adjust pressure range?

Hi, I am trying to adjust the pressure range for the pressure gauge. I have already set it in the required section but it still not works. baroScaleDefMinhPa : 1000, baroScaleDefMaxhPa : 1020, baroScaleDefMinkPa : 100, baroScaleDefMaxkPa : 102, baroScaleDefMininHg : 29.2, baroScaleDefMaxinHg : 30.4,...

Re: Metro App for Cumulus for Windows 8

Thanks David for your comment. Agree that Windows 8 needs some time to get used to. Missing the start menu.
I am using the final version (RTM) of Windows 8 as it has already been released to TechNet.

Metro App for Cumulus for Windows 8

Just installed Windows 8. No more desktop gadgets possible like in Windows 7. Very much enjoyed the sidebar gadget before.
I am no programmer at all and was wondering if anybody could write a simple Metro App for Windows 8 to display the results from the realtime.txt

RG11 Rain Display Decimals

I have set the RG-11 to a sensetivity of 0.01m per tip. The main display, the graphs in Cumulus as well as the webtag only display um to one decimale. This means I only see a result as 0.1 only. Is there any chance to increase to decimal range in Cumulus to match the RG-11 setting in the cumulus.ini...

Re: Hydreon double tips

Just installed my RG 11. Alan's configuration with 10uF and 800Ohm works great. I use 40m of CAT5 cable and serial to usb converter. No double tips at all!
Just waiting for rain now for some comparison.

Thanks again Alan. Great help.

Re: RG11 - Rain rate calculation

Sorry Steve that I come back on this topic, If I take it in a mathematical way the rain rate should be the incremental gradient of the rain time-volume curve. If we assume that v1 would be the total amount of rain at a time t1 and v2 the total amount of rain at the next dip at time t2 then: Rain rat...
