Re: Lightning Detector Test

I wouldn't trust those 'blanket' charts. The UKV model shows very scattered showers with mediocre pockets of CAPE.

A rumble of thunder or two possibly embedded in the heaviest showers, but I wouldn't expect any 'heavy' testing for your sensor.

Re: Data Summary - possible calculation error

Not sure what you're looking at? It's there in black & white Winter 2019/2020 The following represents an assessment of the weather experienced across the UK during Winter 2019/20 (December, January and February) and how it compares with the 1981 to 2010 average. Forget what the diagrams/images/titl...

Re: Data Summary - possible calculation error

I think it is simply down to the fact that the MetOffice use meteorological seasons to keep their data 'tidy' as astronomical seasons don't always fall on the same day. A change to a new year has to happen, and it just happens to be in a Winter month (unless you're in the land of the 'roos) So, that...

Re: Data Summary - possible calculation error

@mapantz, I've just looked at your data summary page and you have winter records stored against 2020. But how is that possible if they should be stored against the year winter starts? Winter 2020 should not be populated until December 2020. I use the same one that Mark does, but he updated his vers...

Re: Data Summary - possible calculation error

I’ve had a look at the Met Office for guidance on how to store winter records but it doesn’t give a definitive answer. Winter is attributed to the year in which it starts. That is the meteorological convention. I'll try and find a link that specifically states this. One I know of in passing is this...

Re: Data Summary - possible calculation error

I've always used Dec, Jan and Feb for the three months so for example December 2009 - February 2010 would be deemed to be Winter 2010 since all but 10 days fall in 2010. No. February 2010 would be part of Winter 2009. We usually refer to it as "The Winter of 2009/2010" The infamous December 2010 wo...

Re: Data Summary - possible calculation error

The red colouring is to indicate that those months are not in the current year - Winter being spread in two different years.

Don't quote me on it, but I have a feeling this was mentioned some time ago and it was fixed?!

Re: Monthly Cumulus Database

Doesn't the Monthly database update to whatever archive interval/log you have set? It must be set to one minute on yours if it is doing that?

Station settings -> Log Interval (must match your stations archive interval)

Re: Lightning Data

I get this quite often. It's just down to the GW1000 losing power - it doesn't save the previous lightning data. The wsview app shows dashes, so that's probably the way to go.

Re: Ecowitt GW1003 Weather Station

From a personal perspective, I think you may create more problems by having such an aggressive oleophobic-type coating. It's likely to create more bounce-outs, particularly in convective rainfall scenarios. I sprayed some silicon spray in some time last year and have now left it. The gauge has broke...

Re: errant readings

I don't think Awekas uses the realtime.txt? Not if you're sending data via CMX?

Strange though, as your realtime.txt definitely shows 0.0

Re: errant readings

Your realtime.txt is showing a dewpoint of 0.0, so it must be an issue with your stations data?!

Re: Highcharts Graphs

Humidity and pressure are up to date, so it might be a problem with data missing in some of the other columns of your database?

Click 'By Mon & Hr'

You'll see an error, so something must be up with dates/data.
