Re-downloading last 5 days data?

Hello - I just got back from a few days away, picked up Maplin (Fine Offset) weather station to plug into PC for a download, and it beeped and reset the time. Stupidly, I didn't change the time before I tried downloading and realising that, despite the empty "memory wheel", a whole load of...

New UK weather visualization tool

Not had time to see if this fits in with Cumulus or might be the basis of something related, but it looks interesting anyway...

BBC UK Weatherwatchers is now live

I might have missed a post, but strange that there is no talk of the BBC's new Weatherwatcher's crowd-sourcing "nowcast" site. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weatherwatchers - it's UK only right now, but seeing as it only went live this morning, there's already a decent number of reports. Here's an ...

Mine arrived today and working well. Shame about the missing 3 weeks of data, especially as we had some fairly extreme weather as far as temperatures and wind go.

Re: N96GY Maplins Weather station

Yes, I saw that - in fact, it says "stock due in 16 days". Having had a look at this thread about incompatible transmitters, I wonder if it might be worth asking a product question first. Or does anyone have any other suggestions for alternative in-stock supplies around the £15 mark? Well...

Re: N96GY Maplins Weather station

Just try cleaning it up very carefully Thanks! Well, I had some wicked stinky citrus-smelling stuff called "MYKAL de-solv-it Electrical Cleaner". Got a couple of cotton buds and gave everything a really good clean, let it dry and tried again, but just got the LED on all the time. I suppos...

Re: N96GY Maplins Weather station

I had to go around mine with a Stanley knife, but be very careful not to cut your finger off :o Aha! That did the trick. So, I got in and here's what I saw... https://www.dropbox.com/s/joh6t2oglwcvso9/January%202013.jpg - click the image to see the full size version. I think it's safe to assume tha...

Re: N96GY Maplins Weather station

Anyone tried opening the transmitter? Last night I got "lost sensor contact", went outside, batteries fine, tried brand new Duracell but not light came on. We have been getting some extremely fine, powdery snow here, and it had blown inside the the sensor cowling, and had bunged up the sen...

Wanting to average hourly, weekly and monthly temps.

I want to make more use of my lovely data from Cumulus, and I also want to make some mashups with things like weekly electricity meter readings. Here's what I know: I can make some lovely graphs very easily with Google Spreadsheets, but I'm limited to 400,000 cells across all sheets. Plus, when pull...

Re: Anyone got any fairly massive data se

Dear lardconcepts: If you still require a bunch of data, please have a look to my site: http://met.ivic.gob.ve/red/Cabimas/data/ I have registers form 2008 most of them every minute. Thank you very much, I have taken a copy to experiment with. I am still trying to figure out a way to average data o...

Re: Anyone got any fairly massive data se

Right, Steve's data worked fine, and I'll post again when I've done something interesting with it! But another member PM'd me with more data (he's not replied to whether I can use it publicly yet, so I won't post links here until he does). It's 5 years of data, at 1 minute resolution. I quickly foun...

Re: Anyone got any fairly massive data se

I've got just under 5 years worth of data (from when we moved here) but at 10 minute log intervals (about 40 MB). It's likely that there are people with more than that, but I'm happy to let you have mine to be going on with. I can zip it and put it on the web for you to download if you want? Hey, 4...

Anyone got any fairly massive data se

I'd like to see how well my initial experiments with Google Fusion Tables will scale up. I've only been logging since Nov 2011 (at 5 min window) so I've only got 8 full months of data (8 x about 950k each). This works fine, but does anyone have a large amount of data they wouldn't mind letting me co...
