Re: Windows 7 COM port
Yes all the drivers have been un-installed quite a few times now, but when I re-install them and look in device manager at the USB ports, USBXpress always reappears even though I do not request it. With regard to which Weatherlink I am using I still have the original CD and have been using that, whi...

Re: Windows 7 COM port
Hello Ray. Yes I have tried all the COM ports, 1 through 18 with no result. I reinstalled Weatherlink and the CP210 and then went through the Weatherlink set up routine again and the only way I can get the Weatherlink software to work is if I set the communications to USB. If I set it to Serial then...

Re: Windows 7 COM port
Did all that and still when I try to configure the Wearherlink it tells me that there are no COM ports in use. Tried auto detect and that failed to find the CP210 as well. Guess I will just have to give up on using Cumulus, which is a shame as it is so much better that the station software.

Re: Windows 7 COM port
Hi Steve OK, this is what I have done so far. Have gone into the 'help' on the Cumulus configuration and found this passage USB This setting should let you use your VP2 in USB mode. However, support for this in the Davis DLL seems to be broken. You will therefore need to install the CP210X virtual s...

Re: Windows 7 COM port
Thank you for your replies. Firstly I already have Weatherlink up and running on the PC, so are you saying that I need to do it again? It might well find the COM port that it is using but would I be able to see it? Second point I have now gone back into device manager and have found this, which appe...

Windows 7 COM port
Firstly apologies if this has been asked before. I have been running Cumulus successfully for many years on my Windows XP laptop but that gave up the ghost and I am now using a x64 PC loaded with Windows 7 Professional. I now want to use my Davis Vantage Vue (with a Davis Data Logger) on this PC and...

Re: Davis Vantage View spurious results
Have been trying to download the files within the Diags folder for you but although I can download folders 1,2,3, folder 4 is much larger and just will not download, usually coming up with a server error. Tried it many times yesterday and again overnight with no luck and just a box telling me there ...

Re: Davis Vantage View spurious results
I open the post reply box and then go down to the browse button and select Cumulus from Drive C. Diags shows as a zipped folder. I choose that and when I hit Open it immediately opens into the individual folders within. I select all the folders and hit Open, but nothing downloads to the reply page. ...

Re: Davis Vantage View spurious results
Sorry never used this forum before and have no idea of how to attach this file. It is already zipped but will not transfer when I try to list it in the box below all it does is opens the internal files. My apologies for sounding thick.

Re: Davis Vantage View spurious results
Yes, have checked the actual station and everything is fine there, securely mounted and I have put a measured amount of water through the rain gauge and got a result immediate that was what I would have expected. I get a feeling that it is software related as when these spurious results happen it is...

Re: Davis Vantage View spurious results
Sorry cannot give that information at the moment as I have disengaged the data logger to stop any more silly results going to the web page. With regard to Cumulus and Weatherlink, I have both programs on the laptop, but only ever run Cumulus. Would it help to un-install Weatherlink completely? I was...
