Re: adding wunderground link
I thought I had found the solution to my problem but when I looked at the details I couldn't see the relationship to what I was doing so please pardon my ignorance if I've misunderstood everything. I've just got a new Curconsa PWS - unfortunately it only has a wifi link and so is not supported in th...

Re: Supported Weather Stations
Hi Paul, Thanks for your interest. I suspect there may be something odd being reported in the MXDiags folder in that todays log file has hundreds of "New all-time record" or "New monthly record" lines but nothing that includes the word "Error" so it may be commenting on...

Re: Supported Weather Stations
Thanks for your replies Guys. I'm a long way from being a web coder, although I'm reasonably knowledgeable about Windows stuff and can usually slog my way through things. However I do struggle when there is no basic documentation other than the source code - that is something I've always struggled w...

Supported Weather Stations
Cumulus MX appears to support only a very limited range of Weather stations, some (like Oregon Scientific) are now obsolete. I used to have an Oregon Scientific one but several components failed and being unable to purchase replacements I bought a brand new Curconsa Station primarily because it cove...

Cumulus, Oregon Scientific WMR200 lost connection
For many years now I have been running an Oregon Scientific WMR200 with Cumulus on my Windows 10 Pro system - this is always kept up to date with the latest Win 10 updates (so now, Nov 2020, running 20H2) - for the past week or so I've been having problems with the station apparently losing contact ...

Ransonware Potential?
Last night I downloaded CumulusMX and the WeatherCloud software (I was thinking of upgrading my Cumulus to be able to use WeatherCloud) - immediately I received a warning from Windows Defender (I'm running Windows 10 Pro and its bang up to date) about an alleged threat to my system from potentially ...

It must be obvious but ...
I've downloaded Cumulus MX on a Win 10 PC (no Unix, no Raspberry Pi). I start it up by clicking on CumulusMX.exe and I get a DOS window coming up saying, amongst a few other things Cumulus running at: http://*:8998/ (Replace * with any IP address on this machine or localhost) Type Cty-C to terminate...

Re: Daily rainfall graph for webpage starts 2006, ends 2013
Many thanks for this - I had the same problem with the monthly rainfall graph showing dates up to the year 2100 - I had three entries (over a 5 month period) for Dec 31 1999. Heaven knows why these appeared but on deleting them this graph and one other one (unfortunately I cannot remember which) wen...

Re: Unable to start Heavyweather after install & running Cum
OK, I followed Mark's instructions (thank you) and got no results - because I guess as we're starting to speculate its not an access permission problem unfortunately. So I uninstalled HW, cleared out any directories of data etc and reinstalled it. I did the reinstall from an Administrator account an...

Re: Unable to start Heavyweather after install & running Cum
No I'm not trying to run both Heavyweather and Cumulus at the same time. Just to prove that running both the apps togehter is not the issue I have once again restarted Win7 - neither app is in the startup list. I then start Heavyweather and up comes the 0x00000005 message after the delay i mentioned...

Re: Unable to start Heavyweather after install & running Cum
Mark, I'm very happy to use Process Monitor - I've looked at it a few times but never used it on a real problem - would you care to suggest what I should set up and do to try and track down this issue please?

Re: Unable to start Heavyweather after install & running Cum
Heavyweather.JPG Well ... I'm not totally convinced. Please see the attached file for the actual message box. Usually if you get a file permission issue in Win 7 you get a different message from this. Neither Heavyweather nor Cumulus are installed in either Program Files directories, and the user i...

Re: Unable to start Heavyweather after install & running Cum
I've tried running it as administrator and I also tried compatibility mode (XP SP3) but it didn't make any difference. I was wondering whether it was something to do with the serial port and whether Cumulus had somehow grabbed the COM port for itself. Interestingly enough as soon as I installed Cumu...

Unable to start Heavyweather after install & running Cumulus
I installed the latest build (1.9.1 989) of Cumulus on my Win 7 HP 64 bit system and ran it for a couple of days. Then I wanted to go back to look at Heavyweather but each time I try to start it I get a Windows message coming up which says "The application was unable to start correctly (0x00000...
