Re: First startup after upgrading to b3141 - error message noticed

If it was my design, then internally I would use a fixed time zone with no DST and convert on-the-fly when making the data available externally. Something I've been doing for years. When storing and manipulating timeline-based data such as meteorological readings then artificial adjustments such as ...

Re: First startup after upgrading to b3141 - error message noticed

Fab, thanks for the detail. I was sure it was nothing to worry about as everything was running sweet as a nut :)

First startup after upgrading to b3141 - error message noticed

Just upgraded to b3141 and started up with no problems - all seems to be working just fine. I did scan quickly through the MXDiags file after the restart and saw the following: 2021-07-31 14:52:26.545 Reading history data from log files 2021-07-31 14:52:26.546 Loading last N hour data from data logs...

Re: Advice regarding sensors for GW1000

The WN34 soil sensor is out with some people for testing - data from them was in the v3.12.0 beta ;) There was very little sign of any updates on the WH34 a day or so ago, but I now see it on their site this morning. https://www.ecowitt.com/shop/goodsPage/1/65 Yeah it was there yesterday, ordered i...

Re: Location problems

Enter the seconds value as a whole number. So for your latitude it should be 7 and your longitude it is 54.

Have you ruled out a caching issue - i.e. force refresh of page, or manually clear the cache?

Re: Advice regarding sensors for GW1000

Thanks Paul. HI freddie, Yes that sounds good. I only have the WH41 PM2.5 AQ and the WH51 soil moisture sensors and these show in the CMX Extra sensors table, and the other sensors should do the same. I believe the GW1000 is the original gateway unit (I have 2 of them from early testing in 2018) and...

Re: Advice regarding sensors for GW1000

Also, what is the difference between GW1000, GW1004 and GW1100? Apart from price, that is :)

This post on the wx forum is a good place to start...
Very useful post, thank you. So after reading most of it, I am looking at purchasing a GW1100 using 868 MHz, and a couple of WH31EPs. Does that sound about right?

Re: Issue when attempted running as service

Doing a bit of Googling, and see that your error message doesn't refer to your HID device - it is to do with a user (hence UID/GID). Hopefully further in your syslog you will have seen a message like this: systemd-resolved.service: User lookup succeeded: uid=* gid=* where * is the uid/gid for the ro...

Re: V 3.12.0 Interface - Moon image path and NOAA files path

@mcrossley Michael understands why absolute paths are required, but has mentioned "I think the help text should make it clear that absolute must be used" which sounds fair enough.

Re: Issue when attempted running as service

This is quite telling:

Code: Select all

Jul 30 08:46:21 tinyComputer systemd[1]: cumulusmx.service: Couldn't add UID/GID reference to unit, proceeding without: Device or resource busy
Was there anything else accessing the device at the time?

Re: Issue when attempted running as service

@sfws: could you share your MX service file, please? Also, any messages in /var/log/syslog around the time when you attempt to start as a service.
