Re: It would be nice to save the lightning data to a file
I also have a piece of Python code running on my Raspberry Pi, just after midnight, that gets the total lightning for the previous day and writes that to a second table (ESDaily) along with Max and Min values for the other extra sensors. Finally the Python code creates a .json file with the total d...

Re: migrating old data to cumulus MX
Don't install Cumulus on your desktop. This is mentioned in the Wiki. Best place is c:\CumulusMX[2022-05-24 19:12:49.680 C:\Users\Kyle Kotwica\Desktop\CumulusMX\data\alltime.ini]

Re: migrating old data to cumulus MX
most every time I run the program it says Downloading Archive Data blah blah runs through - processed 0% to 100% TWICE That's normal. It's because downloading a lot of archive data can be slow and new archive data can be added/created while this is happening. The second request is made to pick up a...

Re: Using SFTP
If it is your server, like you said in another topic, surely you can change the server config to accept the older protocols?richard_newberry wrote: ↑Sun 22 May 2022 6:06 pm Why i said does it need a newer rencissh.dll file for it to work?

Re: Using SFTP
I thought you said in another post that passive works? I may be mistaken but I thought that was what I read.

Re: Using SFTP
Wait .... are you actually hosting the server? The file /etc/ssh/sshd_config is the SSH server config file, not the client.richard_newberry wrote: ↑Sat 21 May 2022 10:11 pm I will have a look at the concurrent connection in /etc/ssh/sshd_config

Re: migrating old data to cumulus MX
Is your Cumulus logging interval the same as your VP logging interval? If they're different that usually generates a load of archive messages in the logs.

Re: WH1080 not communicating with CumulusMX on Linux Mint
Well, I might just give in to your arguments. :D I used lsusb myself and the weather station shows up, but there is no info about which file represents it in the /dev folder. Or how to refere to it in any other way. I would use udev to do this rather than changing perms manually on anything under /...

Re: WH1080 not communicating with CumulusMX on Linux Mint
First is the fact, that it needs to enter password everytime Cumulus starts. I know it should not get shut down often, but the computer is a temporarry solution, because it sometimes unexpectedly crashes. Even though that may be automated. Next is just giving superuser privileges to a program that ...

Re: WH1080 not communicating with CumulusMX on Linux Mint
I'm not really the man for this - maybe @freddie? But a quick search shows pages like - https://ramonh.dev/2020/09/22/usb-device-linux-startup/ If you follow all the steps in the link @mcrossley provided (changing the references to suit your specific device) then you will be able to run unprivilege...

Re: Using SFTP
When using ftp via ssh outside the network and when i input the username and password i can access the cumulus files and when cumulus trys to upload it timed out errors. That's like comparing oranges and bananas, never mind apples. If you SFTP from outside your network to your Pi, you are initiatin...

Re: FTP issues
Passive mode is unsecure you gotta open a load of ports? Only on the server side (that's why some providers dislike it). They're both as secure/insecure as each other. In both cases, the data transferred between client and server is unencrypted and therefore able to be read by anybody with the know...
