Re: Wind bearing zero when calm

I don't have a Fine Offset station so I don't know - but perhaps the FO is reporting a direction of 0 if the speed is calm? Beteljuice is correct in that in the meteorological world if there is no windspeed then the wind direction is reported as 0. Wind directions are reported from 1 degree through ...

Re: WDConverter

I don't think that's quite correct, beteljuice. The error message has placed quotes around the value 79.0 to highlight it. But the error message is accurate in that 79.0 isn't a valid integer value - it is a floating point value. 79 would be an integer value. So the converter software didn't expect ...

Re: Installing Cumulus MX on Mac

Cumulus MX will run on the Mac if you can get the Mono package for the Mac (you can - https://www.mono-project.com/docs/getting-started/install/mac/ ) Cumulus MX is a .Net program. Mono is an open source implementation of .Net. So you won't need an APP file to run Cumulus MX on the Mac. Note that Cu...

Re: error [object Object]

Sorry, I was unclear with my earlier reply. I was referring to the fact that your manually edited changes to the ini disappearing is a symptom that Cumulus was still running when you edited it. Cumulus writes all its current settings to the ini file when you shut down the application. I didn't mean ...

Re: error [object Object]

Sounds like you're manually editing the ini while Cumulus is still running.

Re: Installing Cumulus MX on Mac

The "Cumulus MX download" thread in this forum should be your first port of call. Essentially, it is a case of unzipping the distribution, ensuring the correct dependencies are available, and running as an appropriate user. All these points are covered in that thread. I don't think the Mac will be t...

Re: Lack of accuracy of weather station and Cumulus forecasts

You should bear in mind that the forecasts are based on algorithms that highlight the weather that typically occurs with a given set of parameters. The troposphere is a very complex fluid in motion and you should not expect too much from an algorithm that has just a set of readings from a single poi...

Re: Timed out trying to read data from the socket stream?

Sorry, I didn't spot that you had already mentioned FTP rename setting.

I concur - it looks as if the FTP server is at fault. Possibly not deleting its own tmp file from a previous uploàd.

Re: Timed out trying to read data from the socket stream?

Doesn't this happen when you have the FTP rename option ticked?

Re: RaspberryPi script to display weatherstation values via ssh - Version 1.7

Hello Adam I am wondering now though if the .json file might be missing as I had my WMR928N disconnected at the time I was setting up the three scripts (perhaps CumulusMX needs the connection for the file to be created?) I couldn't have it connected at the time as it was impossible to have the two ...

Re: Offset in the daily rain value

I'm not sure it's working as intended or at all. If that were genuinely the case then I think there would be a few more posts about what you are experiencing. Having said that, it should be easy enough to check in the code. I expect the current maintainers of the code will read this post at some po...

Re: Offset in the daily rain value

Did you edit the ini with cumulus stopped? Also, it won't affect rain already recorded - you will need to go through your data files (with cumulus stopped) and adjust the values manually, unfortunately.

Re: Offset in the daily rain value

It looks to me as if there is a difference in rain tip values between what is configured for your Davis station and what you have configured in Cumulus. It appears that you have your Davis configured at 0.01 inches (or 0.25mm), and that Cumulus is configured at 0.2 mm. Both the station and Cumulus c...

Re: CumulusMX moving historical data to a new machine

I think it is OK as the template is actually still on the web server as opposed to local machine. Okay, I will have to dip out at this point, as I don't know which file is used by the template to read the data. If you could find this out and then check that it is being correctly generated and trans...
