I hadn't updated the clock on the station because I was having some power & connection issues and found it annoying having to update it all the time. I never thought it actually did anything!

I also would like to know if the problems disappears when connecting the station to a PCI-SERIAL interface card, without using USB... several months ago I got a new PC and was able to purchase a PCI-Serial card and it is superb. i got it to work.
different browser failed, but by opening the link in a new tab and then refreshing the page it did download.
all a bit strange, and not sure whats going on at my end, but it's all done now.

right, i'll try using a different browser when I get home.
not using a download manager at all.
both a right click and a left click were failing for me over the weekend.
